What do else do you use your jerkbait rod for?
Smaller square bills and top water baits.

Are rocks even more important than current when locating smallmouth?
Current is extremely important. The rate of flow can determine how deep or shallow the bass are in the water column. The structure that diverts the current will generally position those fish. Any current break will provide for an ambush spot to capitalize on bait washing by. Bass know how to conserve energy by sitting in the voids and slack sections. Those are always prime targets for me.

Texas rig/jig rod length
Minimum of 7-3. I don’t care about leverage or fulcrum principles. I remember the days of the over the head hook sets.

10 Million Dollar Lawsuit Filed in Obion County Central Bass Team Death
What a tragic loss. This is the “cast a big net” lawsuit. I’ll leave the family dynamic out of it. Attorneys that specialize in injury litigation hope to get the named defendants insurance carrier to settle rather than enter into long term four cases. The more named, the better the odds of one or all to settle. It’s pathetic. The plaintiff could have tried to name the boat manufacfacture, outboard manufacture, last mechanic to work on the boat, the county, state and on and on. Plaintiff will need to show each defendant showed recklessness, negligence or purposed indifference in some act that contributed to the death. Triple sad.

Are they good? More like awesome. Gammi 604 round bend hooks and the best trailer keeper out there. Skirts are hand tied. I have four dozen on the way. Thanks for the heads up!!!! I don’t have Facebook. CC

Seaguar Red Label and Line Conditoner
I use it on Red Label and it helps reduce memory and adds a slicker feel to the exterior.

shakey heads
Sieberts tungsten shaky head with the screw lock is the best I’ve found to date. It matches up perfectly with a trick worm.

Stock quality or higher replacement handle for Daiwa Tatula?
SDS Custom Reels had a carbon fiber handle that is really nice. Find him on EBay. Very reasonable.

What Makes For An Ideal Spinnerbait ?
Quality wire that allows maximum blade vibration but durable. The R bend design. A head design that prevent the skirt from rolling over the wire. A tied skirt that’s not overly bulky and pulses. A trailer keeper that actually keeps. Stainless steel blades with some thickness and non tarnish finish. A quality BB swivel with strong split rings AND the loop at end of the arm is welded closed. Less than ten bucks.

Anybody ever wanna go back?
No way. I’m fishing locations I never fished before. I’m catching fish I would never have caught decades ago. I can effectively fish different situations I would have been never thought possible before. I might not get out as much now but my time is just as fun and full filling. The thought of fishing with a Lews pistol grip, a 5000 and a black jelly worm 90 percent of the time is not appealing at all.

Rods out of stock. Sign of the times?
Just like toilet paper, production and supply will reach the level of demand.

Anyone else "baby" their equipment?
Fear not.

Help Us Celebrate 25 Years!
Well didn’t twenty five years blow by. Congratulations Glenn to you and your better half for creating something truly special. I think the Columbia River is one of the most unique fisheries ever. I will also throw Pot Holes in the mix because it gave me the most incredible sixty minutes of fishing I’ve ever experienced.

What Makes For A Good Chatter Bait Rod ?
Once again, the area you fish, the body or bodies of water you fish, the characteristics of those locations and your personal past experience will more likely dictate what you prefer in a rod for any lure type.

Question for Dobyn fans
To be serious, when you combine the various series by Dobyns, the 734C is the all time best seller. The demand for longer rods is what drove the expansion to rods exceeding seven feet. All the longer options was a huge factor in my trying them in the first place.
