Field mice. Their bites are painful.

Best spinning reel around $200 dollars or less
Take a look at the Diawa Ballistic LT. I went with the 3000 because the body is the same as the 2500 and the larger spool has advantages.

Who has stocked up for summer?
It got to the point the doorbell would ring and my wife would walk up and pitch the TW box at me like an NCAA level softball pitcher. It’s okay though. I can handle her best stuff.

What size football head jig would you use.....

Dobyns 683c vs 703c vs 733c
There will be a difference. The way the load progresses from tip to butt will feel quicker on a 663 than a 703 because of the additional length of the blank at six inches. The difference in the 703 in comparison to the 733 is much less noticeable if at all. You’re only adding threes inches to the progression. I fish longer rods than most and a power rating above most anglers. Take a reel with you and have the sales person let you run the line throughout the guides and do a load test. If they say no you know who to ask for.

Lure/Technique to start the day? Then what...
Totally depends on the time of year and body of water. One thing I frequently do is move out from the bank early and work a reaction lure for fish that will roam in low light. If there’s chop I might stay out away even longer. A vibrating jig, spinnerbait, square bill for LM and a jerkbaits, lipless and Swimbait for smallmouth. Once the sun comes up I’ll move to a jig or plastics and pitch tight to cover and shade pockets. It’s just the opposite for smallmouth. I move deeper as the sun rises. That’s when I apply hula grubs, tubes, drop shots and deeper crankbaits. This progression works well for me on my waters. River fish are a different thing. It goes top waters to lipless:spinnerbait to the bottom but River fish stay shallow longer.

Has anyone ordered directly from Dobyns?
You can call direct and Chelsea or Kara will take your order. You can also order through *** Fishing and the Kadens are in stock. The order will most likely be dropped shipped from Dobyns is Sulfer Springs. I got my Kadens in four working days. Jigs and other tackle took an extra day due to weather.

Megabass Dark Sleeper
I didn’t truly appreciate the DS until I saw them in person. I knew immediately of a specific situation where it would shine and shine it did. The only recommendation I could make is buy heavier than you might think. I had 1/2 ounce models only and wish I had the 3/4 version. The bass choked it. I fished them to 18 feet deep. A Dirty Jigs football jig and SK trailer will run the same price. I like this bait even though it’s made of “rubber.”

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
That totally slipped my mind. Yea, that’s it......slipped my mind, an honest oversight, a little moment of mental lapse commonly known a a brain fart. The monkey has no jurisdiction over the BR Flea Market and rightfully fitting. It’s not about buying stuff but building and maintaining valued relationships. Something not to be denied including me. Thanks A Jay for catching that!

Metanium, Bantam or Zillion 21
“Give me your thoughts” I gave my thoughts and referenced a Specific Zillion model that would fit the task the OP mentioned with a specific model number. I mentioned this mod because that model can be had a substantial discount. I can’t recommend a model that is only available for preorder.

Soft plastics that live up to the hype..
If it has Rage in the front it’s the real deal. I’m giving Max Scent a fair shot this year. It may be hype to gripe. I dunno.

Have you thought of moving to a warmer state??
My parents were from Alberta and Saskatchewan and moved from Calgary to escape the brutal winters. We ended up in Eugene Oregon when I was three. I moved to SW Washington in 1974 and the PNW is home. I can’t think of a place I’d rather live than here. The only thing missing is good bar-b-que.

What is your favorite jig and jig trailer combo to represent a Bluegill?
- So I bought a Ryobi V-MAG 3....
Bring on the memories! Ryobi AD 5000V, 4000V and V Mag 3. I toured the LCI factory in 1989.- Detecting The Drop Shot Strike
I rarely feel a doink. Most bites are more of a quick bip or a twang. If they really take it it’s a kadunk which is a doink but more pronounced. If I lift the bait and feel that twonngg type of resistance, I just keep lifting and reeling.- Metanium, Bantam or Zillion 21
No I’m not.- Metanium, Bantam or Zillion 21
Model ZLNSV016SH regular 299.99 on EBay for 211.99 but had since increased to 219.99.- Metanium, Bantam or Zillion 21
You can a current Zillion for 211.00 right now and they are tanks.- What's in your Dobyns Arsenal?
I forgot a DC744C jig special. Covered like a blanket. - So I bought a Ryobi V-MAG 3....
