For a reference, I highly recommend Ft. Stewart as a hunting destination. $40 for a year hunting pass on the base and $25 for a 7 day Georgia license. Five days of hunting, lodging in Hinesville, gas on the way down and more than enough food to eat - under $300 for the whole trip. Awesome!!!!

The guys at Ft. Stewart were telling us the stories of the big pigs down there during our hunt two years ago. Biggest one we saw went around 300 and that looked HUGE. I cant imagine one that weighs 1100. Those things are nasty. A friend shot one with a bow when we were down there and as the thing was lying there dying, it was grunting at us and trying to get up and charge. Tough little buggers... Wayne

They are a cold water fish. I dont know if you would find them any further south than Virginia. Warm water tends to up the mortality rates on these fish.
