  1. Welcome back KB. It's good to have you posting again. Falcon
  2. That's a good decision. You won't regret it. Good luck, Falcon
  3. Abu Garcia is all I use. I have a 24 yr. old 5600 that works great, 2 C4's, C5 Mag-X, D5, and a Record. They all work flawlessly. I'm getting ready to pick up a Revo to try a low profile reel. I would never hesitate to buy an Abu Garcia reel. Falcon
  4. I have two Guide Series rods, and I'm very pleased with them. I always talk to the guy that does the purchasing for my Gander and he told me that most of the Guide Series rods are made by St. Croix. They are very nice rods for the money. Falcon
  5. Zara Spook in frog pattern. Falcon
  6. Good point Logger, I forgot about that spot. You can fish there on the way to the Dumping Grounds. We used to fish that spot, and around the docks at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club and get the snobs upset. (they think they own the water too) John087, what do you consider a giant? Since 2001, I've caught over 100 smallies over six pounds. My biggest is six pounds fifteen ounces. I've also caught over 250 five pounds and over. I can check my spread sheet for exact amounts if you like. I don't mean to sound harsh, I just don't think you are giving Jenga accurate information. You are right, you can catch a ton of 2-3 pound fish all day, but you will also get your fair share of "Wall Hangers". Falcon
  7. NOW THAT'S A BASS!!!!! Way to go Randall. Congratulations. Falcon
  8. Fishin49er hit the nail on the head. That's exactly what I was going to say. Great minds think alike.LOL Falcon
  9. Very interesting. I wish there were pictures of the reels. Falcon
  10. SWEET BOAT!!! Now go get some fish slime on it and break it in right. Congratulations, Falcon
  11. I just checked Weather.com. The temp is 39 and the ten day forcast states our temps are not to reach 50 in the next ten days. I think it's time to visit my cousin in SoCal. Falcon
  12. So sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my dad sixteen years ago, and I still miss him. The one thing I have is all my memories of him and I fishing and working together. He was one person who could make work fun. Always remember the good times and that's what will get you through this time. God Bless, Falcon
  13. Here on St. Clair, we have to wait until the first Saturday in June. We usually catch a couple while fishing for bass and walleye though. Falcon
  14. Here on St. Clair we have ALOT of muskies. We have three strains, Great lakes, Northern, and Tiger. My Muskie rods are 7.5'-8'-3", with Abu Garcia 6600 C3 & C4 reels. The baits we have success are: Mepps Muskie Marabou Spinners (in-line spinner) Large spinnerbaits Super Shad Raps X-Rap Jointed Shad Believers 6"-13" (jointed and straight) Joe Bucher Shallow Raiders Large walk the dog baits Large spoons There are many more baits, but these are the ones I use. I should mention, the cost of some of these baits are...........let's say elevated. Like ghoti mentioned, you can catch muskies on large bass lures (I've caught many) but if you want to increase your chances try some of these baits. Remember "big baits equals big fish" If you have any questions, let me know. Good luck, Falcon
  15. Muddy, that was priceless. I have to clean the Dr. Pepper off my screen. Falcon
  16. Clay truly is an amazing person. The first time I saw him fish, I couldn't believe my eyes. He's one person who has every right to say "I can't" but he doesn't. What a great spokesperson. Falcon
  17. Welcome jbshimanofan, It looks like this site just recruited another member to the Shimano Posse.LOL Falcon
  18. Welcome to the best fishing site on the net. Have fun, Falcon
  19. Good luck, I hope you have a speedy recovery. And like Skillet said, listen to your doctor. Falcon
  20. Very good rules to live by. That was great Muddy. Falcon
  21. Welcome crazychuy, I've been told that fish can smell the chemicals left behind from the cigarettes. I think quitting would be your best decision. (I lost both my parents due to smoking related diseases) Good luck, Falcon
  22. Welcome bluebonnet2, Sounds like you have quite a fishing machine. Now go catch some fish and have fun. Falcon
  23. VERY COOL!! Falcon
