Setting confidence lure goals this year
The Senko was my crutch for years. I would fish other lures but didn’t give them a fair shake and would quickly resort back to the Senko when others didn’t produce after a few casts. I gave up the Senko and all stick baits well over a decade ago. Since giving up the Senko I’ve added many different presentations to confidence list.

Someone should tell Seaguar...
After looking at the picture @Johnbt posted, gun manufacturers don’t know how bullets work either so I’ll give the fishing company a pass. 😁

A-Jay's Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
I saw my first ice out lake yesterday. Interestingly enough it’s named Bass lake. Yesterday we hit 75, it was very windy, and it rained last night. Today the wind will continue and a high of 72, so that should put a hurting on most remaining ice around here.

I’ve bought two Rod forms them. I don’t remember which ones I’ve bought. One was a two piece and the other was a one piece 7’ 11” flipping Rod. The two pice I used for jerkbaits and it snapped on the first hookset. I messaged them (this was during Covid) and they said they were on short supply. I said I’m only looking for the end piece and they didn’t budge! The flipping Rod was way too long for my liking (not their fault). But the fact they didn’t work with me on a replacement or a refund left me unhappy. Their reels on the other hand I’ve been happy with. That being said, I haven’t had any warranty issues with so I can’t speak on that. So far, I’ve been extremely happy with their reels, sunglasses, and tools. Rods, not so much.

State VS State 2025 – Let’s bring it back.
- Mountain Lions
It’s interesting this topic has come up recently because I just read the Michigan DNR has just confirmed they have found two cubs in the western UP. This is the first time in over 100 years. They were photographed walking down the road and the mother was nowhere to be found. So, either the mother has abandoned them which means they won’t survive or they’re in big trouble when mom gets back and realizes they left them den.- State VS State 2025 – Let’s bring it back.
Well done @Pat Brown!- dang. turkey already?
I’m ashamed to admit I forgot about it until I saw a field of 50 or so last Friday. We’re still about a month away as well. I didn’t buy a tag for myself last year because I wanted to get my son his first but after plenty of losing battles to get his butt out of bed I’m buying my own this year and he’s buying his. That’ll teach him! 😂- Zzzhhunntt !
The blowup of a bass hitting a frog in the slop followed by the high pitched whine of the braid after the solid hook-set. As others have said, the call of a loon as the summer sun is falling behind the trees.- The latest sale thread
Well, you had good luck with the rods. Give it a shot….you’re duty bound to report back! 😂- A-Jay's Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
@A-Jay I can’t begin to imagine the mud season you’re going to have with all of that snow and the rain coming tomorrow night! Hopefully with all of the snow it insulated the ground so you didn’t get too much frost. We received just under our average snowfall for the year but it was spread out so we had frost 2’ deep off the roadway and upwards of 4’ in the roadway. The snow has mostly been gone for a couple weeks which has given the frost a chance to slowly leave so, the rain shouldn’t leave things a huge mess. Good luck.- Coping with chronic heart ache ~
I was referring to hospice. From the link you provided that doesn’t appear to be the case which is a relief. Stay strong you two!- Latest Catch Pics Thread
I did see a couple spots by me where you could float your yak. With the warm temps in the coming days along with the rain Friday night and into Saturday, I’d guess you’ll have some open water very soon!- Coping with chronic heart ache ~
I’m not familiar with this program. It isn’t what I think it is, is it?- Thanks to the BR community!
I’m saying Bassresource members have it figured out.- Thanks to the BR community!
When I became a moderator I thought for sure I’d see ‘the other side’ all the dirt that doesn’t get shown to you all. That wasn’t the case at all. In fact, it’s very rare things go off the rails. Everyone on here knows the rules and for the most part follow them and are just wholesome down to earth good people. It is a breath of fresh air for sure.- Intestinal blockage
Great to hear!- Rescued Dog

@MontanaBasser I’d say you made out pretty good!- Matt Robertson stolen tackle
@TnRiver46 I think you’re getting your life hacks mixed up. You want to be faster than the guy next to you in the event of a bear attack. 😂- What the heck?
I watched that last week and thought I saw the word Lowrance. Glad I wasn’t the only one. Doritos are good but imagine how awesome they’d be if they used Garmin. 😂- A-Jay's Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
With the extended forecast looking warm and next Saturday bringing a rain, I’m cautiously optimistic there’s a chance I’ll be close to my March 19 prediction. We shall see.- Opinion on Spiderwire Braid?
@PBBrandon nailed it with the EZ Braid, that stuff is terrible. I did have good luck with a a different model in the heavier pound test. Seaguar Smackdown has been consistent in all pound test for me so I’ve stuck with that for many years now.- Everywhere everyday exercise
I don’t get near the exercise I should but, I do get a decent amount of steps in a day at my job. I also have a 14 year old son who’s taller than me, works out every day, and feels a little froggy multiple times a week. So I get some wrestling in multiple times a week reminding him he still can’t whoop the old man. 😂 - Mountain Lions
