  1. I fished a tourney out of sandusky and one of the rockpiles we fished had a great view of Cedar Point
  2. As a team that always makes poor decisions The Browns just signed first year kicker ......
  3. Wake baits for me, although not a whole box full I've got plenty. The problem is they are not amongst my fav topwater baits, so they don't get thrown
  4. When practicing this I found making sure I had a consistent amount of line hanging. I'd have six inches of line out and make the perfect skip. Next cast I'd have a foot of line out and smash the surface blowing up the reel big time. Maybe its common sense to do this but it took me awhile to figure it out.
  5. I love skipping a toad under a dock They have enough weight to get way back and its not the typical dock bait The echo of the feet smacking the top of the water, combined with the blow up under the dock and the hookset... That gets my blood pumping!!
  6. I 100% purchased a bunch of vision 110 jerkbaits because of pro influence. Not one pro but something like 8 of the top 10 were using them at an event on Beaver Lake That was the only reason I bought them, I'm glad I did. unable to link story --> vision-110-was-the-common-denominator
  7. When I lived in Cleveland my union hall was around the corner from Slymans. Their sandwiches are 1 lb of meat freshly shaved and assembled right in front of you Sure it's a $20 sandwich but well worth it.
  8. I'm a little old but loved supercross when I was a kid The Ricky Johnson VS Jeff Ward rivalry turned me into a Kawasaki guy Then came Jeremy McGrath, Ricky Carmichael and that Pastrana kid but probably haven't seen it since Cant help with the fantasy team but thanks for the memory jog I can almost smell the 2 strokes and hear the 4 stroke rumble
  9. My lake has this happen every year to what seems like dozens of boats because A. they drop the water 20 feet and B. we have a lot of people with "summer homes" They come down for the weekend and beach their pontoon until next time They come back 2 weeks later and the water has dropped 4 feet so their pontoon is stuck. Then it pours or come springtime and they let the water back up, now that pontoon is free drifting cover
  10. I wish you the best of luck!! Like with fishing sometimes the conditions dictate you if you make a move or not. My company got sold in June and they said since we got bought out by an investment firm looking to expand their portfolio, everything would stay the same. Oct 29th they let us know they were closing the Knoxville office Dec 6th and we could work from home until the end of the year and possibly a few months longer, depending on your role. Although my 11 years there seemed like a long time, some people were there over 20. The super crappy part is we have 5-6 people that are 59-60, so they gotta find new jobs right before they try to retire.
  11. Welcome to the site!!
  12. The DT -7's are my favorite I stocked up but the supply is dwindling
  13. For the lazy and/or internet search challenged
  14. What I have found interesting is that often guys from group A and guys from group B find the same groups of fish. Apparently those fish have never heard of "fishing pressure" as different guys from 2 groups yank fish from the same spots all the time. Our sport is some kind of crazy. We've got community holes and too much fishing pressure at the same time Sometimes you match the hatch, other times big baits = big bites Natural colors in clear water, yet I'm throwing chartreuse and pink in a clear East TN lake That's why I love the sport, every day is different than the last.... sometimes.
  15. I always like to throw in the link to some interesting figures The shot in the junk o meter gets a few laughs, although not funny https://heyjackass.com/
  16. When asked about fishing muddy water ; I remember someone (I think Denny Brauer) saying, what do you do in the dark when you cant see? You find a wall or some type of landmark(couch) and move down the edge towards your destination A bass does the same thing except their destination is food So find a break wall, rip rap, creek channel and start there looking for pieces of cover or ambush points with some type of current across it He also said you know how they say an animal has 100X the senses that a human has They also say that when humans lose the ability of one of the senses the others are increased So noise and scent became even larger factors when fishing muddy water Seemed to make sense to my pea brain
  17. When I was tournament fishing I was always tried chasing active fish, which meant trying to establish some sort of pattern of fish that had bitten in practice that I could continually run until I matched up the timing or didn't. Early on I found in the grinding tourneys I did better. I could pick apart an area and put together a good limit on a few bites. It was the ones where guys were catching 20-30 fish, I struggled until I changed my mindset. Finding a pattern and establishing some sort of milk run between areas with active fish changed that. Sometimes(a lot) I'll mark a school of fish(2d sonar) and wont get a bite, come back 2 hours later and catch a few. Or I'll mark both bait and a school of fish but for whatever reason the feeding fest isn't on. Later, they're busting the surface smashing that same school. This is why I believe timing is a huge factor and although I have some skills, me presenting a lure better than someone else as the reason the fish bit my lure seems less believable.
  18. My lake is on the list !! Bill Dance and the TWRA announce Bill Dance signature lakes along with 15 million in above and below water upgrades https://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/bill-dance-lakes-121721.html
  19. I knew he'd sell out SMH J/K Congrats and well deserved
  20. My kids used to play this game called never have I ever Never have I ever seen a paved parking lot, a concrete boat ramp or park facilities before Never have I ever seen structure laid out in a lake by the dept of Natural resources Never have I ever been to a kid's day Never have I ever saw someone benefit from handicap access at the lake It would seem like for any of these things to happen it would be dependant on the number of people that fish there.
  21. One of my all time favorites
  22. Marling baits does a video on crankbait angles on micro cranks
  23. Where I grew up we heard a rumor a hunter died crossing a shallow pond when a snapper got his achilles. Always sounded like a horrible way to go
  24. Try the bandit 300 series I like the Grenda Shad and the Hotty totty colors
