Randomly watching some fishing videos on youtube and last winter saw a video from Daiwa where the guy recommended loosening them. Went downstairs and did just that. It will get done once a year at the end of the season unless someone highly recommends doing it after each outing. I have a lot of money in some of these combos I don't want to eff them up.

Thanks guys. Looks like the BFS version is still leading on the want list. Mostly thinking smaller treble hook baits for bluegills, crappies, and bass. Cranks, jerkbaits, topwater. It's the only reel that I've had the "I NEED this reel" feeling. I have some nice reels but honestly I wouldn't miss any of them. This thing is just "different" for some reason.

One of my favorite things to do at night is shine a flashlight into the water and see all the creatures/fish swimming around. The other night I was doing some night fishing and before I left I did my little shining in a shallow area near the ramp. Saw my very first musky. I only saw the last 1/4 or so as it was slowing swimming away from me. The area is lighted and has a tremendous amount of forage that I'm sure it was hunting. I'd have to guess it was around 3 foot or so. Sorry this isn't a catch post. Just thought it was super cool.

The 23 BFS version has been on my WANT list for several months. Today I stumbled upon the 24 Shallow Edition. Are these pretty similar? Main difference? Thanks!

Lately I've been thinking about it. I got into a slight altercation the other week with a guy that was treating his wife or girlfriend terribly, along with his dogs. I'm not one to shy away from speaking up. He shut up pretty quick after I mentioned having the park ranger and or police stop by to see how things were going. He could have easily drove over to the boat ramp where I was paddling to.

Thanks. If and when I ever buy something, I'm thinking it will mostly be small treble hook lures for bass and panfish. Little poppers/cranks, etc.

So what kind of rods are you guys using for BFS? Obviously the tip needs to be very flexible to cast out small lures, but do some rods have some backbone to bring in a decent bass? Or is the whole rod UL?
