FROGGING
:-[i'M SO CONFUSED :-[i bought a pack of Ribbits near the end of last Summer (first time for toads) and used them only a couple of times with Gammi 4/0 Hooks. I rigged it weightless with the hook point comeing out the ?top? (eyes and everything) so it would ride in the groove. The rounded part of the hook is on the bottom (smooth side). Are we talking the same thing or do I maybe need to take up bowling :-[??? As Ever, skillet

Exotic catch
Caiman? Is that a crocodile? When you catch them do you transplant 'em or do they end up on the supper table or as boots ? As Ever, skillet

Talking about Bluegills, Redears, Perch and Crappie
Haven't done it in a while but love Bream fishing. There are 2 lakes pretty close Horse Shoe and Bear Creek in ARK that have Shellcrackers. Fished for them with live bait on light cane poles when younger. Man, I can still remember that smell when they were bedded up and when hooked they would take you around the durned boat. They were so thick across the back that my Momma would have to run slits from top to middle so they would cook right ! If Shellcrackers got any larger this site would be dedicated to them instead of Bass ;D... As Ever, skillet

How did you find out about this site, and when you registered... (and a little about myself)
Looked up a certain TV fisherman's name and took a look at the forum on his site. Didn't really care for the way things were handled there. Went looking for something else and found BFR. Must have lurked for a year, thinking it was gonna turn into the same as the afore mentioned site. Never came across anything like that! Finally bit the bullet in Jan. of last year and found out that I had friends that I had never met... As Ever, skillet

15" 2 lb Black Crappie
Jake, As I've said before, both of my parents loved to fish and we went all the time. My Daddy liked the taste of Bream and my Momma would rather have had Crappie. Always had a freezer full of both. I could hurt myself on either. If cooked right (grease hot enough) Crappie has only the slightest of fish taste. It is really a white, flakey and light tasteing fish. If large enough to fillet and then cut into 2 finger size it is light enough for breakfast food ... As Ever, skillet

15" 2 lb Black Crappie
When I was a kid, fished for Crappie with my parents using live minnows all the time. GREAT tasting fish! Had to wait till I was grown to catch the 2 largest Crappie ever. Not on the same day but same lake. Caught both while Bass fishing using 1/4 oz. white spinner bait with 6" red curly tail worm trailer. Was a wonder didn't rip bait loose setting the hook thinking it must be Bass. That's quite a mouth full for a Crappie even for a big'un ... As Ever, skillet
