  1. Same, happens on random parts of the forum and at random times for the past few weeks.
  2. Good luck with the insurance company, make sure you monitor your local craigslist boat section and if you see it up for resale, alert the police and maybe they can put in a sting operation.
  3. A tiller will give you the most room for 3 people.
  4. Does the 14’ have a rod locker? I had a 14’ bomber and I had to load/unload all my rods each trip, from the house to car then car to boat. It might not seem like a lot of time but it adds up. Also fishing two in the 14’ was cramped. The only time I wish I had a smaller boat was when I push pole way back in the pads, but I’m glad for having a 18’ now for all other situations.
  5. I learned some ASL in elementary school because we had a program that comingled deaf and regular students. I think one trick to help you learn it faster is to learn signing your favorite songs.
  6. Happened several times with the customs I've gotten from TW over the years. Now, I always wiretie next to the rubberband before using the lure.
  7. I'd like to hit the Upper Potomac for spring smallies if you're game. I'm deathly afraid of taking my Lund PVB up there, and by the looks of it, Big Slackwater is the only reasonable place to take a big outboard.
  8. Sounds like you did the right thing, kudos to you. Now, I just need to take this post as a template and tell my wife and kids that I need to retire from being their dad from the months of April through October so I can be a fulltime fisherman.
  9. Like @Tennessee Boy boy posted, the GPS is built into the Ultrex head. The puck is the heading sensor and is only used for jogging between waypoints, or heading direction on your graph under low/stationary speed.
  10. When you find a boss/owner that actually gives a crap about people versus focusing on bottom line, you'll fight tooth and nail for them. Sounds like you found the place you want to retire!
  11. You can watch it via any web browser too by logging into the MOTV website. For a non-smart TV; if you have an HDMI port you can use a Firestick, there's a MOTV app you can load.
  12. Theoretically rising interest rates are supposed to curb inflation. But perception is reality, and prices will probably keep going up because of other issues like supply chain, so higher interest rates won’t make a difference. Yep, no end in sight IMO.
  13. I think the LOL was at the notion that the layman isn't ignorant to the process of procuring materials from overseas, not at the price increase. Just a guess though.
  14. On and off since 2008, but it ramped up hard when COVID hit.
  15. Yeah QE4 was backed and started by the previous administration, and unfortunately the current Fed Chair appointed by #45 hasn’t been replaced yet.
  16. I had a lot of luck getting them to bite the 1/8oz Pop-R's.
  17. It seems to palm smaller than the 200K too. I haven't put it on a rod yet, so I'm not sure if it'll suit my needs. But it seems tiny.
  18. I agree with @softwateronly, the Curado DC doesn't really shine with lighter baits. It will handle a 3/8oz lure like a weightless senko fine, but anything lighter than that and it will struggle. It shines on spinnerbaits in the wind, oblong shaped plastics, and anything mid-weight (think 1/2-3/4oz). I found it mediocre for skipping and pitching, since I think it needs spool revolution time to self-correct, and you just don't get that on short casts/pitches. You can dial it in for skipping, but I think Daiwa SV's do it better.
  19. I just got an email that said I won a pack. I do it every year, but it’s hard to stay disciplined to save it for the BF sale.
  20. Have you done any reading on how to tune the DC to the line and lure you're planning to use? FWIW, I set the digital brake setting based on either braid or fluoro, then after that all you can do is adjust the tension knob. I feel like my best results come from the old method of tightening your tension knob all the way, then hang your lure from your rod tip and loosen the tension knob until it starts to drop, then adjust it looser from there depending on the conditions. The DC will help manage overruns a lot, but that tension knob still has to be adjusted.
  21. Are you casting in tight spots? If so, you'll be able to make more accurate/better casts in tight spots along the bank with a shorter rod. When bank fishing, I'm casting under overhanging branches, in between thick brush, making backhand casts and more, and it's a lot easier with a 6'6 rod, than a 7'3 rod. If you're in that spot, and you want a shorter do it all rod, check out the Gloomis IMX MBR 783C.
  22. Get your resume ready just in case you’re unhappy, or you get down sized, which is usually the inevitable in these situations.
  23. I’ve had an ultrex for a year and it has been fantastic. Just a couple hiccups that I’ve had to deal with: 1) hit a stump and it would vibrate at low power. Replaced the shear pin and tightened some bolts and it fixed the vibrations. 2) spot lock doesn’t work under bridges because of GPS, didn’t think of that at the time.
  24. Tokyo rig dragged across the top of it,
  25. 30lb J-Braid Grande X8. I might just have to play with the trailer, or no trailer, or bend the blade. But out of the box, I was not impressed for what I thought it would run.
