  1. Yeah so I think ultimately, I will have to buy a 8x5 Daiwa handle to fit the OG Daiwa Cork knobs and use a 7x4 shim adapter to fit the Bantam MGL. Or go on a goose chase to find bushings with a large inner diameter to fit over the base of the Shimano handle to match the Daiwa knob.
  2. Left: Gomexus 7x4, Middle: Stock Shimano Bantam, Right: Some Daiwa stock handle (SV105 I think) So the issue with fitting the Daiwa OG cork, is the additional notch on the two left Shimano handles. Yeah, there's a lot of play if I put the Daiwa knob onto the Gomexus, or Shimano type handle. Is this the Gomexus aluminum one you're talking about? https://smile.amazon.com/GOMEXUS-Compatible-Shimano-Baitcasting-Replacement/dp/B09XQQB88J/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=Ny8jE&content-id=amzn1.sym.bbb6bbd8-d236-47cb-b42f-734cb0cacc1f&pf_rd_p=bbb6bbd8-d236-47cb-b42f-734cb0cacc1f&pf_rd_r=0128QFRNC00VNTKT8HBT&pd_rd_wg=o9UFT&pd_rd_r=5747a8bc-3b25-4153-9ae2-56d7f61f7533&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mi&th=1&psc=1
  3. The Gomexus 105mm has weird notches on the knob bars that don't make them compatible with OE Daiwa, or Shimano knobs though. I would prefer offset. Yes, they should clear the stock drag star. I have a 95mm Ray's handle with 8x5 to 7x4 spacer and it fits...I just want a larger 100 or 105mm handle.
  4. So I have a JDM Bantam MGL A which has a smallish handle. I want to put a 100mm+ carbon fiber handle with a 7x4 fitting without a any spacer that will fit with Daiwa OG cork knobs. This might be a tall order. I purchased this Gomexus handle, but it's not compatible with the Daiwa OG cork knobs. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DHZFZL3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Anyone have a link or brand I should try?
  5. Poppers along the weed edges, spinnerbaits before the weeds emerge or in sections there's not a lot of weeds.
  6. If it works, I’d just use it and forget the hassle of sending it back. It’ll have a warranty for 3 years, just register it or keep the receipt.
  7. I run two on an Ultrex as well, same positioning as Phelptwan. Works pretty well for getting through most types of vegetation. But, you have to trim up the prop so it's just under water, or grass will accumulate where the shaft meets the lower unit and the blades become useless for that situation.
  8. Fixes? Add a transducer to the left side with the Y cable, or move the transducer down the stern closer to the pad?
  9. Got our doggo (Chloe) in December for our oldest son who has anxiety/depression. She's really helped him and sleeps with him every night. This is our second Shiba Inu (first one was way before kids and Dogecoin).
  10. Been drinking a lot of bud heavy bottles. I'm not really an IPA guy, and a cold bud bottle hits the spot every time except I'm not liking that it's over a $1.50/bottle nowadays.
  11. Breakfast cigar wakes me up real quick.
  12. Here are some more pictures on the trailer, placement, angle (used an adjustable level at about 5mph), and the distance from the pad/no strake lines near it. Also today, I hit an electric only lake so I was only using the TM, and hit about 3.3-3.5mph. The motor was trimmed all the way down because my young son was "driving" the boat by using it as a rudder. But, I was getting perfect left side images even with the engine trimmed all the way down. It's gotta be water disturbance from the prop when the big engine is on right?
  13. Had a long stretch in May where I spent most of my time doing yardwork and playing golf before the heat became brutal, but I finally got the line wet a few times and figured I'd post a report. Mattawoman Creek - Went there in late May and the water temps were in the upper 70's. The water was really muddy and stained since the hydrilla hasn't really come up to filter it. Got a few LMB on paddletails, nothing on topwater. Went there last Friday after a stretch of warm days no heavy rains and the water is starting to be clear and I can see the hydrilla coming up now. Got some LMB on frogs and poppers, and a couple snakehead too. Took a mid-week hike on the canal a few days ago before some storms and was hoping to get some frog bites. That plan kind of worked out. I threw a pompadour jr in the open water sections and got one small bass to hit. Then I started to hit some duckweed pockets with a popping frog and got a nice largie. Came to a section where a newly fallen tree and duckweed had accumulated there. This was a primo spot, I threw the frog and it got blasted at least 6 times. One LMB spit the frog and was a 5lber+. If I wasn't getting eaten alive by the mosquitos I would have stayed longer....but I forgot my bugspray and was getting bitten through my clothes, and neck gator. They were even biting me doing a normal pace walk back...I literally had to walk like those Olympic speed walkers do to keep them off. I hit Black Hills for the first time this year, just for a quick trip to get my oldest son on some crappie. We found a small school and caught about a dozen throwbacks before he had enough, so I trolled a little further up the creek to the rock pile wall. I had tied on a Spro 40 rat, and really wanted to get something on it. Threw to the corner over some wood and thought I had snagged some emerging hydrilla....nope, it was a big LMB. She measured 21", and was missing an eye. Weird bite, no explosion on the rat, and really no fight to the boat...spawning must have really taken a toll on her, so I got her back in quick after a pick and measurement. Got a few more 1lb'ers on a popper before we had to get home for dinner. Black Hills, Mattawoman, and Occoquan are my usual haunts, but I plan to hit some other spots on the Lower Potomac this year as well.
  14. I have the 7'3 MH PA and I bought it for chatterbaits/spinnerbaits. I also have a Daiwa Zillion 7'2 MH/R. I think the PA is just SLIGHTLY faster than a Daiwa MH/R. I wouldn't hesitate to fish a jig on the PA with braid. I know most like XF though. I bet it would even work for frogs/toads with braid and a good hookset on non-slack line. Basically, I think it's a pretty versatile rod.
  15. My dad is usually with me, but it's a good 80lbs lighter than me. I'm going to try lowering/tilting it down too next time.
  16. Stabil 360 during the season, then Stabil Red for the winter if I know there's some left.
  17. It's backed into the garage, but I'm taking it out tomorrow and I'll be able to get a better picture. I suspect it might be too far up from the center pad.
  18. Weird thing is, it's trimmed up enough that it shows data at 3mph, but when I go about 5mph, it goes dark on the left. I'll just add a port side transducer and be done with it, trolling on the big engine to graph at 3mph is painful!
  19. I have the rear transducer mounted right of the engine on my boat. When I'm going about 5mph, the right side looks fantastic, but left side shows nothing. When I slow down to about 2mph the left side will start to show data. This is with the engine trimmed up enough to not interfere with the transducer. Is that normal? Is it just caused by prop wash?
  20. For a data point, I get 6100 rpms with my PVB 1875XS with a 200 Merc v6, 19p Solas. I read somewhere that if you have DTS controls, it should to be tuned by the dealer, it doesn't automatically default to 100% throttle.
  21. Labor costs too. I stopped buying pork ribs at $5/lb. I'll buy them when they go on sale for $3/lb or less. At the end of the day, supply and demand will hopefully fix it.
  22. I use the Tatula Elite AGS 7' M/MH the most of any rods I have.
  23. If this was the only whiskey I could get my hands, I'd be OK with that, Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof is so good.
