  1. Single hooks: Tatsu #12 or #15 for baitcasters, #6 for spinning tackle Treble hooks: #10 Sunline Shooter Defier Armilo You might experiment with braid and a leader to see if you like the combination, too.
  2. Nice fish, GREAT pics!
  3. http://hueyburger.com/about/ In order to have your burger medium rare you have to know something out the management and reputation of the restaurant. I look for a 100% score by the city's health inspectors and the meat must be processed daily on site. Medium rare does not mean raw.
  4. Quantity $449.99 Add to Cart G. Loomis Jig & Worm Casting Rod GLX 893C JWR Length: 7'5" | Line: 12lb - 16lb | Lure: 3/16o.z - 5/8oz. | Power: Med-Heavy | Action: Extra Fast | Handle: C | MPN: 12541-01 2016G. Loomis Jig & Worm Casting Rod GLX 893C JWR an incredibly effective deep-water bass rod! It has enough tip to fish medium-sized jigs with total CONTROL and accuracy, yet it's powerful enough to drive the hook through a plastic worm and into a bass' jaw with authority. The extra length creates maximum tip-speed to increase casting distance, but more importantly, provides total CONTROL in deep-water situations. Additionally, that extra length makes it a great alternative for long-range pitching. GLX pushes the sensitivity meter to the max! Custom build is another option:
  5. I like everything to match or contrast. I care even if the fish don't. Black is another option you might consider. KastKing Black Ops
  6. My son-in-law is an engineer. If I need a manual I'll wait for him to put it together next time he is in town.
  7. Give this presentation a try: Cast and let the lure fall to the bottom on slack line. Keeping your rod steady at about 10:00, reel quickly, five turns, then let it fall on slack line. DO NOT pump the rod. Reeling allows the blade to lift the lure with minimum forward motion. A couple of years ago I had my best day ever on a BassResource RoadTrip at Pickwick. I fish the Sworming Hornet/ Lake Fork Tackle Live Magic Shad.
  8. No, but as a collector the finer points really impress me. My favorite are Megabass or specifically the Ito Vision 110. Of my entire collection I have probably only fished three. As far as "catching" my #1 jekbait is a beat up, 10+ year old Lucky Craft Pointer (green Baby Bass). Otherwise my go-to crankbait is a Norman Fat Boy (redear pattern). You would probably consider this lure to be completely ruined!
  9. The line will "work", but it is is NOT the right line for a dedicated crankbait rig. I would recommend #10 Sunline Shooter Defier Armilo. http://www.sunlineamerica.com/shooter-defier-armilo/
  10. You just need to go fishing with a crankbait. The strike is decisive and the hookset can be either a horizontal sweep or simply lifting your rod and reeling quickly. Treble hooks tend to set themselves.
  11. I friend of mine buys this beer so no one will EVER ask him to share.
  12. Although G. Loomis rates the MBR844C as Heavy Power, I think this is the classic MH and could be the Poster Child you are looking for. http://www.gloomis.com/content/g-loomis/us/en/home/conventional/rods1/bass/classic-bass/CLASSIC_MAG_BASS.html
  13. Same-o, same-o...Cavitron for me, black on black.
  14. In the Mid South summer is all about ledges. On the Tennessee River the magic number seems to be around 20' or so. My go-to is the 10" Rage Tail Thumper, but there are several other choices that a lot guys swear by: 3/4 oz Ledge Buster spinnerbait (single willow blade), Lake Fork Flutter Spoon, 1 oz Siebert Outdoors jigs/ Rage Tail Craw or Lobster and BIG hair jigs (white).
  15. Rage Tail Swimmer http://www.strikeking.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=733&Itemid=1259
  16. Congratulations!
  17. I own G. Loomis GLX, Rainshadow Immortal and two Eternity. I do not own, but have briefly fished the NRX. Frankly, in my hands I can not appreciate much difference. You are dealing with the top of the food chain! https://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/batson-rod-review.html
