  1. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  2. Sorry to hear about you loss. It makes it that much tougher at this time of year. Praying for all of you to be comforted.
  3. I learned cursive writing in elementary school. I gave up writing and paperwork when I retired. My handwriting used to be decent but now some days it is readable and some days not so much. I find it interesting about the computers when going to school. When I was in school if a kid got caught with a calculator they got sent to the principals office. These days they can't do anything without a computer.
  4. I had a Brother in Law that was at Pearl Harbor when the attack happened. He was on a ship next to the Arizona. He said he was blown off the ship into the water. I can not remember the name of the ship he was on. He passed away eleven years ago at the age of 93.
  5. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  6. I have been checked many times. They usually do a boat inspection when they check you. I have never had a problem. Many years ago I got checked twice in three weeks. I had never seen them in this area so often before. I asked the guy that ran the boat ramp I was using why they were down here so often now. He said they were pulling double duty. They were checking people but they were also looking for marijuana fields.
  7. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  8. I see them in my future too. Dang Bait Monkey gets me again.
  9. Hope everyone has a happy and safe thanksgiving.
  10. I don't take the line off for cleaning. I usually replace the line after cleaning them unless one has a pretty full spool of good line.
  11. I always bring mine in and put them in the basement after every fishing trip. That way I have them in to check my line and see if I need to cut some line off. If any need any type of cleaning or replacing line I have them in to work on them.
  12. I too am a dog lover and have had several dogs through the years. I don't have one now. I guess I might be considered mean but I never had a dog that lived in the house. They always stayed outside. In times of extreme cold I would make a place for them to stay warm in the garage. At least right now I don't have to worry about ending up in the doghouse since we don't have one.
  13. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  14. I am like @cheezyridr in that I used to work with a lot sheet metal when I was doing HVAC work. It sent me to the hospital a few times to get stitches. Blood doesn't bother me and needles don't either. I just accepted it as part of life when I was working in the construction trade.
  15. I had a decent year considering I didn't get to fish a lot. It was definitely better than the last two years. Got skunked twice this year. Gave up fishing for quite a while this summer with temps up in the 90s. Hope to do better next year. Addition: I finally caught two bass out of a lake I had fished 4 or 5 times before without catching anything. Ended up there by accident when the place we were going to fish emergency vehicles had the road closed and this was the next closest place. Caught both of them on a 4.25" Stiko in Bubble Gum color.
  16. Praying for everything to get better for both of you.
  17. It would be greatly appreciated if you northern guys would keep your cold and snowy weather up north. We don't want it down here.
  18. That one was about the same size as a log I caught this week on a lipless crankbait. LOL
  19. Anything I have to worry about shrinking get washed then hung up in the basement for a day or two. Then put in the dryer with a dryer sheet for about 15 minutes. If it still needs ironing my wife takes care of that.
  20. Excellent article. I need to move north to improve my fishing luck.
  21. I like the Spro Little John crankbaits. They make them in silent and rattling.
  22. Welcome back to the forum.
  23. I got the shingles vaccine a few years ago. Got the shots about 5 months apart. I really don't remember having any bad side effects from them. What surprised me was when my doctor told me to get the shots at a pharmacy. He said he would have to charge me a lot more for them due to some kind of rules or regulations in with the insurance.
