Great job Glenn finding and giving such a fantastic Bass angler a platform.

Didn't hurt that she made you look great by writing such a fantastic article.

Again wonderful job to the both of you, things like that are what Facebook and new social media can't kill about good tech forums.

What a great read! Ol'crickety, thanks for laying that out so beautifully and convincing me I need to visit Ontario's backcountry!!

Excellent write up. Thank you for sharing that with us.

The stocking of fish for the railroad workers pretty kool history. Any railroad workers still around to get a story out of?

I formally nominate @ol'crickety female angler/story teller of the year. She deserves it.

Yes I did read the article on the main page, excellent and brought back memories.

My father in-law had a few outpost fly cabins and summer home on Lake of Woods, near Nestor Falls, western Ontario. My favorite was lake Kiskatina (Height of Land) with phenomenal Smallmouth bass population plus Musky and Lake Trout.

Makes me want to visit some of those railroad lakes. Great job Katie @ol’crickety

I was talking to one of the Field and Stream editors once and he shared that his writers still wanted to write the old style F&S articles instead of "35 Surefire Ways to Catch Smallmouth Bass!" The old style articles weren't just about how to catch fish, but how it felt to catch fish and to be on the water with your friends or alone.

Thanks, Glenn, for this thread!

Ahh, shucks, Dwight!

Alex, you're the best.

And thanks to the rest of you too! You guys are so encouraging and kind.

Katie reminds me of Sue Aikens from the tv reality show "Life Below Zero"

I never really liked those shows, but she was a hoot.

Not embarrassed to admit she's more of a "man" than myself, heck she's more a man than 95% of men on earth.

Nice write up!

Great article Katie.

That's beautiful.  It makes my chest tight to read it.  That's a bucket-list life.
