Maybe its good maybe not i let my rod and my drag do it all backreeling means you have your drag locked down and if the fish does happen to break bad 2 things will happen your fingers will come off andyour line will twist...

It was called magnum it floated through the air on a cast also

Still before a hookset rod ,drag ,then when the hook does make contact the rod the drag then the line comes into play...normally unless you have a locked down drag and a xxxh rod the line will come into play before the reel and rod

Dicks has the quantum nitrous spinning reel on sale for 14.88......as you all know im a abu man i have a nitrous from 2 yrs ago.bought it for $8 back then as a beater reel and the only thing dont like is the small handle knob .this thing has been well abused.and isnt grindy used in saltwater more then fresh.the insides i packed with marine grease.

Want really slow try a 3.8 i use this ratio for big wake baits

I use all diff kinds of uglystiks even the elites ..light baits are best with light rods IMO a lightning rod shock would be more usable for light baits

State of the art ...bearings instead of bushings i dont really call that state of the art just a little smoother thats all that can be attributed to that saying. Its the same as any reel made today minus bearings .i use 50 yr old reels that catch fish never had a prob. Someone mentioned "better" its the Indian not the arrow. Smoother lighter newer has nothing to do with better

A 7ft rod m/h action with lures 1/2 to 1oz and robust reel around 9.2 oz abu 4600 size its all about balance.plus the reel will last about 100 yrs. .

I have manns augertails and jelly worms still in bags from 25 yrs ago they are fine they used to put fs 454 in them as long as they are not crooked they will be fine.BTW i use olive oil in my bags so they lay straight.

Unless they are in the top 20 most valuable lures BNIB i just use them .most have sentiment al value or just unique to have.

Pork is great but its like $5. jar and only getting 2$ to $3 online keep them may be worth $20 in 20 yrs
