  1. Out of work, out of benefits and very hungry? Or a member of a group that thinks holding animals like this in captivity is just wrong and decided to set this one free?
  2. ^ This - always. If it's an undressed treble hook, it gets a cap.
  3. Given the number of rods that you've had the problem with, I'm gonna side with @FishTank and suggest you inspect your reel.
  4. Better than me - my last bass was mid September.
  5. Day for me is when the sun is up...when it's not in the visible sky I call it 'night'.
  6. Ahh - mine would be the day after ice-out is declared...which could be anytime between middle of March and middle of May depending - though this year might be really early way things are going.
  7. How's that, Mike?
  8. To the ancients in the northern hemisphere, today marks Mid-Winter, the shortest day of the year. From now on, the days will get longer until mid-Summer in June. Celebrations were had for the rebirth of the Sun.
  9. Ummm - Glenn....can we have a link?
  10. Now if I can get the greenies to munch on my Zoom Gobies when I use a drop-shot.
  11. Ya, that's the package I earlier alluded to being delivered this past Friday. I shipped it direct from the retailer.
  12. He must have sent me this out of the goodness of his heart then - cause the package all that was packed in had his name/address in the return spot.
  13. @roadwarrior went all out it seems - thanks, Kent - next season gonna have to see how well those Iovino 3" reapers do on the Ned Heads Munkin has me testing.
  14. My 60's era Mitchell 320 and my early 70s era Pflueger 640 both had to be reel-closed. They used metal tabs that inserted into the bail end - Pflueger from the side, Mitchell through a hole - there was no way to manually disengage those.
  15. Since I set my spinners light - 3# with 8# test leader on 10# braid...I just pull by hand. Of the five spinners in my bass arsenal, four don't have the AR switch.

For Nora and I, next June will be 34 years. My parents are now in an assisted living facility, still sleeping in the same bed - been married for 66 years this past August.
  17. This is Minnesota at Yule?
  18. I tried the 10# Yo-Zuri Superbraid on my two finesse rigs this past year...I'll be putting 832 back on them for next year...I wasn't impressed.
  19. And people thought my selection for when Tonka opens up was way too optimistic....still have open water on the larger bays.
  20. I think you'll like it - I've tried a couple different 10# braids on my light spinning rigs and keep coming back to 832.
  21. Crappie and Walleye are my alternate targets...if the bass ain't biting, I'll pull out the gear for those others and try to get some table fare. Snot-rockets I can do without...might taste good, but cleaning them is a total pain.
  22. Never under fill a spinning reel - it'll severely affect your casting distance. Cheap mono backing is what I do with all my reels - not one is filled with main-line. Spinning reels, I use 4# Zebco Cajun - you can get a 3000yd spool on Amazon for under $9 https://www.amazon.com/Zebco-Monofilament-150-Yards-Virtually-Presentation/dp/B076MF6XRF?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1
  23. Just for reference - a 35 in Pflueger is a 3000 by anyone else...Pfluegers sizes don't exactly match up.
  24. Lots of guys prefer 3000 size for all techniques...longer casts and less line twist with the larger reels is usually the stated reason.
