  1. @LrgmouthShad - if it works, who cares...there's people out there fishing for bass with (gasp) live bait...a spoonplug is peanuts compared to that.
  2. Spinners and chatters - first thing I reach for is a Berkley Pit Boss.
  3. Whas dis 'Spot-Lock' y'all talkin 'bout? 15# Mushroom anchor or an 8' manual pole...or I'm 'hovering' with my Edge, speed set at 1 and working the foot pedal to keep me as close to stationary as possible.
  4. Deeper spool - Curado MGL 150 holds 120yds of 10#, Tatula 100 holds 150yds of 12# No, it doesn't have the SV spool - that'd be the Tatula SV TW 103 which is $155 at Digitaka - https://www.digitaka.com/item/4/4/2/4960652310550 - and while shallower than the Tatula 100, it's about the same as the Curado MGL 150 - 100yds of 14# on the Tatula SV
  5. 10#-15# Sufix 832 or Seaguar Smackdown....change leader based on what technique you're using.
  6. You could also go with a Tatula 100 in 6.3:1 - that's what I got on my #1 Crank rig. $128 at Digitaka - https://www.digitaka.com/item/4/4/2/4960652205641
  7. Isn't that the normal modus operandi?
  8. 50# 832 for pitching into slop.
  9. Dude - "Space Truckin'" all day, every day.
  10. Spinning, L/F or ML/F rod, light braid, 4'-6' FC leader...you'll feel the 'tap-tap-tap' when they pick it up...even at depth. And it's pretty easy to differentiate between a fish and it knocking through rocks or pulling through weeds.
  11. Aaaannnd - we go back to the dink-fest (yawn)
  12. Only rookie I had this year was the Mr Twister Ned Ringer...produced better than TRDs on my Ned-Heads.
  13. ^ Wimp - I run 8# InvisX (same diameter as Tatsu) on a 2500 without issues...KVD treated naturally.
  14. ^ What John said - I've got so many different plastics in Junebug it's ridiculous.
  15. 4" Berkley Pit Boss is my first choice for spinners and chatters. I can burn a 3/8 Z-Man Original or a 3/8oz SO Fogy Pro without issues.
  16. I haven't done it - but since it's at .010" diameter, it shouldn't be a problem
  17. There are ways of spooling braid where you don't need backing. Couple turns, then a piece of tape across the line Tie through the holes in the spool instead of around the whole spool I still like backing - all my spools are standard size so even my flipping reel has about 80yds of mono-backing giving me 60yds of 50# braid...which is more than sufficient around here.
  18. Had to pop down to Fleet Farm for a couple things...just for S&G went over to the fishing section and they had the round-handle Mojos on clearance...and SCORE...last one I was wanting, but didn't have the money till now.
  19. And for game limits - they take advice from the DNR/DFW/whatever. The people who manage the lands and game make the suggestions to the legislature for changes to the laws regarding hunting/fishing seasons/bag limits...so it's the experts who start the ball rolling for that. And if they're found to NOT be enforcing the laws on the books, they're put on probation at a minimum...probably fired.
  20. Send those prices up here - regular is hovering around $3.59 in my neighborhood.
  21. Ya - stay away from MEK at all costs...that stuff is nasty. We used it at one place to remove tank insulation during refurbishment that had been installed with contact cement that got 'baked' on due to the heat of the liquid in the tanks. Mask, gloves, and working in the dock area with the overhead doors open was minimum...
  22. And the wife and I are 'shoveled' into 850 FSF....
  23. Nice find....and big...I think that back deck alone is 1/2 the square footage of my house.
  24. 2022 regs are the bottom half of this page https://pfbc.pa.gov/fishpub/summaryad2022/permits.html I doubt they changed much for 2023.
