Casting Net
MN they allow you to use one to take Gizzard Shad only, for bait purposes. Net has to be no more that 5' diameter with 3/8"-5/8" mesh size. Then you have to use those shad in the same body of water you caught them in...and dispose of any excess in the trash...no returning them to the water.

I get the Owner Blockhead Offset

Peak Fall Water Temperature
Just remember - before turnover while the surface temp may be at 40....go down about 6-10 feet and it'll still be above 50. <- remembrances of water sample collection for Limnology class.

T rig spinning rod
I'll double down on the Aird-X - fishes way above it's price point...note that it's not a true 'Fast' more of a "Mod-Fast/Fast' - faster than a mod-fast, slower than a fast. My skipping rod is a Okuma Reflexions 7'0" MH/F spinning (can't skip worth a darn with casting gear) and does quite well at it...probably work fine for T-Rigs and regular jig work...around $80 so another option.

Daiwa bg issue
Ya...I avoid Power Pro now - my spinning reels have Seaguar Smackdown, Sufix 832 or Yo-Zuri Superbraid...no issues like that with any of them. Yep...rod-tip level with the water...jerk to the side, not up.

I have a Miravel 1000 and an Ultegra 1000 I haven't really noticed a difference between them...both are smooth running. I'd go with the Miravel again...save a bit of cash.

I"m with everyone else - the 2001 Silverado runs fine on 89 octane with 10% ethanol...the boat and lawn mower get ethanol free. Ya, it's a bit more expensive, but it's widely available and keeps my 2-strokes purring.- Website acting odd or my iPhone
Given the number of messages added to the database over the years - I'm not surprised the whole site is running slow while the indexing is being updated...just the normal things that occur when a database update happens. The slowness will go away once the indexing is complete. <- former Database Manager (ya, I had a lot of different jobs over the years)- water tank to run outboard?
I can't use muffs on my '73 Evinrude cause of where the intake is placed...you can get an adapter for use with hoses, but you remove the plate, bolt on the adapter, then reverse that when done...plus with a hose supplying water, the impeller isn't properly tested under load...a bad impeller won't show up in this case as the hose is supplying the pressure needed to run water through the motor. So I found that a Sterilite 30 gallon container is large enough and deep enough when put up on 4x4s so that the skeg is almost touching the bottom to run the motor...can even rev it up if I don't mind spilling water over the back from prop-wash.- Daiwa fuego vs Shimano miravel
Miravel - from Digitaka... I've got a 1000 for Finesse and a 2500 for general use...both very smooth.- What's your lightest...
Casting: 19 Tatula 100H on a Victory 7'2" MHM - my main crankbait rig - 10.3oz Spinning: Miravel 1000 on a Mojo Bass 6'10" MLXF - my main finesse rig - 9.8oz- Tackle Warehouse new website
I hadn't signed into TW in months...I find better prices/selection elsewhere. Popped in to see what the ruckus was about...ya, website to avoid. I just go to the source...they're usually more accurate.- St Croix River tragedy
Don't hide it - Minnetonka isn't known as 'The Party Lake' for no reason...the number of drinking boaters on the weekends is insane...one reason I don't go out on the weekends. Yep - Minnesota treats it the exact same as being drunk while driving a car - BAC is identical too - and there's the chance of them impounding your boat and it ending up at auction.- St Croix River tragedy
Ya - Mine isn't a 'flip switch' - it's a normally closed switch that needs something behind it to keep it open...when pulled, the switch closes, shorting the points and killing ignition.- St Croix River tragedy
I wear my PFD 99% of the time I'm on the water...only when I'm taking off my hoodie cause it's gotten warm, or putting on my rain-jacket cause it's starting to sprinkle is when it's off...then it goes right back on again. My 1973 'Rude didn't have a kill-switch...I retrofitted one and use it 'religiously'.- St Croix River tragedy
Take the Minnesota rules - up the age to 13 and under for required wearing...- St Croix River tragedy
You have to have them available - like not locked in a compartment - but you don't have to wear them unless you're under 10 years old.- 2023 MN Season Thread
We did set the new record high yesterday - 91 at the airport...+4 over the old record that was over 100 years old. If the forecast for today holds - we'll match the old record high...one more degree to do it.- Will you southern boys take your weather back...please.
No pictures....please.- Some thoughts on Bass Fishing
You too, eh. I've got a few dozen spinners...but maybe 1/2 dozen have seen water...a few buzzbaits, all are still dry...couple dozen jigs but only really use 2-3...etc-etc-etc.- Alabama bass?
When I was majoring in Aquatic Biology - I researched the levels...a Senior Fisheries Biologist had to have at LEAST a Masters In A.B., preferably a PhD, with a side discipline - usually Organic Chem (which was one of my minors). 6-7 years of study in that specific field before they even start making recommendations much less decisions.- Lund 1875 pro v bass xs Question(s)
We're gonna miss you up here, Chris...having face-to-face meetings a couple times, I sure will. - Outboard fuel?
