  1. I wouldn't be too sure. I can't comment specifically about the capabilities of the RES but I've owned lures with extraordinary knot tying capabilities. I've seen them tie themselves to things in my boat using knots that no human could ever tie. The complexity of these knots suggest an understanding of mathematics far beyond calculus.
  2. People who work regular hours get one extra hour of fishing after work during the warmer months and get one less hour of fishing after work in the cooler months. I don’t see why anyone would be opposed to that. I find it interesting that congress is doing this in the spring when everyone is losing a hour instead of in the fall when everyone gains an hour. Those are just my thoughts. I plan on retiring soon so I’m pulling my dog out of this fight. ?
  3. It happens to me fairly often, shows me a login button. It only happens on my iPad. Never on my PC. I just click on View New Content and everything works as expected. I've never had to actually log in again. I do have private relay enabled.
  4. I have Tennessee winning it all! If we were playing for a bass boat instead of just for fun, I would pick someone else.
  5. I lived in Kentucky for a while. They really suffer from March madness there. One night during the tournament, I was in a crowded restaurant waiting to be seated. I heard the young boy behind me who seemed to be in great distress about something. I turned around and saw him crying. His father was telling him to calm down and it would be okay. He replied "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, THIS IS GOING TO DESTROY MY BRACKET!" Basketball is as important as football up there. It's very strange. I was going to do a bracket but Tennessee Boy and TennesseeBoy was already taken. ESPN needs to do more to stop identity theft. I was finally able to submit one as Tennessee-Boy.
  6. There's a serious crack in that wall. I'd be afraid to lean a ladder against it.
  7. Most of the time you have to be at least 5 lbs over the limit before the Tackle Police will write you up.
  8. When I was young I only fished crankbaits and jerkbaits and 90 percent of the time it was a crankbait. I could do it again but I would not want to. If I had to choose between only fishing crankbaits or never fishing crankbaits, I would never fish crankbaits.
  9. I assuming you haven't changed anything like adding a new fish finder. Here's what I would try to figure it out in the order I would try it. 1- I would charge the battery with a different charger to see if it's the charger. 2- If the battery is old I would replace it. 3- I would disconnect the power poles from the battery and see if it fixes the issue.
  10. I couple of weeks ago I replaced the door sensor switch on our microwave. That's all the experience I have in the nuclear sciences.
  11. I recommend a simple approach. Try it and if it doesn’t work fix it. Trolling motor have been known to cause interference on electronics when connected to the same battery. It’s not guaranteed. On my first boat I always connected my electronics to my two trolling motor batteries connected in parallel. During the time I owned the boat it had two different trolling motors and four different fish finders. I never saw any interference. It will take 30 seconds to determine if you have interference. If you do get a second small battery.
  12. I've always loved the graphite handled Tennessee spinning rods that Lew's came out with in the 1980s. When Browning bought Lew's I bought a few with the Browning name. Same rod from the same factory in Korea with a different name. I still use them.
  13. I have to admit I don't get bling. Pretty rods just don't turn me on. Maybe I'm just too old to understand. If I was you guys I would also be concerned that your attraction to particular rods might be costing you fish. "This place looks like a good place to throw a Texas rig but my spinnerbait rod is soo sexy. I think I'll use it." Don't let bling keep you from making good decisions on the water!
  14. I'm of the Charlie Brewer school of finesse fishing. Light line 6# or less. Spinning rod. Small bait. To me it also involves another one of Charlie's terms, a "do nothing" presentation. Do nothing means you just let the lure glide through the water without adding any extra action.
  15. Clean shaven two days a week. Some facial hair the other five days.

  17. I’ll consider myself complete when I have ALL the necessary and appropriate fishing knowledge and skills that I feel I need. Don’t ever expect that to happen and I would probably quit fishing if it did. It wouldn’t be a challenge any longer.
  18. He gets to sleep in his own bed. That should give him an advantage. ?
  19. I certainly don’t know the facts in New York. My guess is they are overstepping their rights. There’s probably no law prevent them from posting a sign. Years ago a city park and marina in Decatur Alabama stopped allowing bass tournaments at the ramps in the park. TVA told them it would take away their water access permit if they didn’t reverse the policy. They changed the policy.
  20. Lowrance is coming out with 360. Garmin will have to eventually or something similar but better.
  21. From Garmin It is not recommended to run a FishFinder and transducer on a boat that is not in the water as you will not get any readings from the transducer. A normal 500w or less transducer should not have any issues when running out of the water. A higher powered transducer, 1kw or larger, may have the potential of having issues as they normally use water to help cool them down when operating for long periods of time. Without the water, the transducer could burn out and have issues if left running for an extended period of time out of the water.
  22. My interpretation of the OPs question was about “rod types”. You may need five identical combos for different baits or different lines but how many different rod types does one need?
  23. Flipping, pitching, tule dipping, fly fishing, finesse, jigger pole, trolling, etc, etc. To be a complete fisherman and master all of the techniques you would need hundreds of rods and 10 lifetimes to master them. No one is a complete fisherman.
  24. The TWRAs computers have a way of forgetting things. Many years ago my boat registration was about to expire and I had not received a notice in the mail. I worked close to the TRWA headquarters so I took my old registration in and told them I wanted to renew it. The lady got on the computer and ask if I still had the boat. I said “well it was in the garage when I left this morning”. She said the computer showed that someone in Milam Tennessee owned the boat. I was very concerned that they had given my boat to someone else. She said don’t worry about it, it happens all the time. She gave me my boat back and everything was fine.
