BPT - Stage One
Yeah. It hurts bad enough to loose a big fish. I can imagine also loosing 10s of thousands of dollars when you loose a fish.

BPT - Stage One
Am I the only person watching the BPT tournament? They're struggling. I'm enjoying watching the best being challenged by tough conditions. Fishing is not suppose to be easy all the time.

Strike King Tour Grade Monofilament
Here's my guess at what's going on. Strike King was purchased by Rather Outdoors. Now they are trying to cash in on the brand recognition by introducing different products under the Strike King brand. Usually when this happens, they're simply buying products that are developed and manufactured by another company and selling them under their well known brand. I prefer not to support this practice.

The Road To The Super Bowl 2022
I watched some of the Pro Bowl today. The intensity of the game brought back memories of some touch football games I’ve played in on church retreats.

Is it harder to catch any fish ?
I’ve made countless cast in my backyard and never got a single bite so yes it is very hard to catch a fish if there are none where you’re fishing. ? After seeing @Team9nine’s post, I’m gonna try a Ned Rig next time.

St. Croix Legend Extreme
My opinion. St Croix realized that they were loosing sales because there are a lot of guy that will only buy the most expensive rods on the market. So they made a few changes to the Legend Extreme and added $200 to the price. Now everyone is impressed.

what ever happened to...
When I was a kid I used to go with my grandfather to the community hog killings. All the farmers in the community would bring their pigs and they would slaughter them together. Me and some of the other kids would clean the chitlins in a nearby creek just for fun. No one ate them but we cleaned them anyway. If I had only known about pork rind trailers, I would have been set for life.

I would cure it first. You could probably finish enough in a few hours to last a lifetime. I'm gonna talk to my country ham guy about it the next time I see him.

fast vs extra fast action for jigs?
Imagine if fishing line was classified the same way rods are. You can choose between light, moderate, strong, and extra strong. What line is best for jig fishing? Some prefer strong line, others prefer extra strong line. One company's strong line is 12 lb test. Another companies strong line is 16 lb test. It would be confusing.

Anyone ever try making your own? I know several hog farmers that I could hit up. It wouldn't take much pig skin to make a lifetime supply.

"Non-Fishing" fishing Gear?
Individually packaged lens cleaning wipes and microfiber cloth for cleaning the electronics screens. I have touch screen fish finders so they get messy fast.

Risky topic…what are your personal biases???
Yeah, I haven’t bought one in 30 years. I’m not endorsing the Ugly Stick, I’m just saying they’re just as sensitive as any other rod if your bias will allow you to believe it.
-
Risky topic…what are your personal biases???
So do I. That’s why I got rid of my Ugly Sticks.
-
Risky topic…what are your personal biases???
My bias The difference in sensitivity between a $20 Ugly Stick and a $600 G. Loomis is all in your head.

2023 B.A.S.S. Classic Going Back To Knoxville
I’m gonna be retiring in a couple of months so I see no reason I can’t make the two hour drive to attend the 2023 Classic. Assuming I haven’t depleted my retirement savings by then. ?

Tips for kayaking around gators?
When I'm fishing I prefer to be the predator not the prey so I stay well north of the gators.
