  1. haha for sure! i've caught a lot of my largest fish on spinning gear
  2. heavy hitters on the st. lawrence river would be awesome. nothing beats 6-7lb smallies and amount of lead changes for big bass on each day would be great in my opinion.
  3. LOL seriously! i'm ecstatic when i get a 15lb bag on tournament day
  4. i am very sorry for your loss. no amount of words can ever take the anguish and heartache away from you or your family, but you have to take each day as it is and just like you said, cherish the moments. what you're doing with him is very important, and i'm sure it doesn't go unnoticed.
  5. my confidence bait actually varies from each different place i fish. some lakes i can throw a wacky rig all day and catch numbers, some places i can throw a wacky rig all day and catch one or two. i always have my confidence baits tied on where i know i can likely catch a fish, which is a stick bait (wacky, neko, t-rig), ned rig, dropshot, chatterbait, jig, and a t-rig for flipping.
  6. i guess it really depends on the day. it's always nice to catch a biggun, but it's also nice catching numbers to keep the blood flowing. tournament day i am always happy to have a limit in the livewell, but fun fishing i am happy if i catch one fish in a few hours that's 4-5 pounds
  7. is this sarcastic? do you understand what it even takes to get anywhere near and qualify for the elites?
  8. Anyone know if Pflueger spools are swappable? I have a President XT (the reel itself shot but the spool is fine) spooled with braid that I'd like to throw on my Supreme. Not sure if they're interchangable, so I figured I'd ask here first.
  9. tough subject to answer correctly. given the circumstances, a tournament could be won on a hundred different baits depending on the weather, time of tournament, so on and so forth. as long as you present it correctly and have a small bit of luck on your side, that's all you can control. tournaments are won by putting yourself in the best possible position with the correct presentation to catch a good limit of fish, not by the exact brand or type of bait you're using. edit: if i we're a betting man, every pro angler has a jackhammer, vision 110, and a few bags of senko's on their boat ready to go ?
  10. i use 15lb hi vis yellow power pro braid to an 8-10lb leader of fluorocarbon. not an issue seeing the line
  11. i own 5 of them. insane quality and performance for a rod under $200
  12. i do not use a trailer on a hair jig
  13. daiwa tatula SV ($200) paired with a tatula elite rod ($180)

  15. owner ultra head is awesome and has some of the stickiest hooks i've gotten stung by ?. weight depends on water depth, wind, etc
  16. i've been using ebay a ton lately for rods, reels, and tackle and have personally bought a few things from that same seller. no issues and everything arrives in great condition.
