  1. Hello and welcome! You will find a ton of great information and great group of guys/gals to chat with here on BR
  2. Daiwa Tatula Glass Bladed Jig rod -TTU741HRB-G
  3. i throw hair jigs on spinning gear in colder water temps especially in the spring. most of the time straight black or a dark brown with no trailer.
  4. $80-100: Daiwa Procyon, Daiwa Tatula XT, Falcon BuCoo, St. Croix BassX $120-180: Daiwa Tatula, Daiwa Tatula Elite, Dobyns Kaden, iRod Genesis, St. Croix Mojo just to name a few
  5. what techniques are you looking to use with your new rod? what is "not too expensive" in your budget?
  6. next ice fishing trip i'm going to stand about 6-8 feet away from the hole, and start flipping a texas rig right in there!
  7. once the weather starts to get warm, ol' candyland turns into a washing machine.
  8. i won a raffle at our ct bass nation banquet which was a ziploc full of keitech baits. ask my wife what she thinks about that ?
  9. what do you switch them out with?
  10. • 3/8-1/2oz. blade bait • 2.8 keitech • ned rig
  11. i know they work, and that they’re top of the market for jerkbaits. i just really don’t want to be spending $25 a pop you’re not helping here ? do you keep stock hooks on the provokes?
  12. yeaaaaaaaa buddy
  13. before i drop $100 on vision 110’s, drop a few lines below if you have any experience with the provokes
  14. kershaws are great and fairly inexpensive. i feel like a part of my body is missing when i leave it at home
  15. lake fork tackle have some heavy garlic stank to them
  16. and the smallmouth fisherman of the great lakes and st. lawrence river are very upset from that dang invasive little critter and the bass definitely are not thriving
  17. i started the topic just to bring some conversation to the table, and to see what other people’s opinions were. not judging him on his decisions
  18. who makes this?
  19. oh it’s a hard one lol
  20. the drama glenn, we love the drama! this stuff is like watching 90 day fiancé for men!
  21. i’m sure there will be some backlash, but when a very likable and arguably the current best angler on the planet (jacob wheeler) is endorsed and uses their baits, you can’t really say much.
  22. i just turned 33 years old, and owning a bass boat is a personal life goal of mine. whether i achieve that goal at 34 or at 64.. it doesn’t matter. i’ve learned more about bass fishing the last 5 years from the back of the boat being a co-angler than i could ever imagine, and i do not feel like i’ve missed out on anything. i finally qualified for the CT BASS Nation state team this year as a co-angler, and achieving that feels like winning the friggin superbowl to me. the fact that i’m going to represent my state at the regionals against all of the other northeastern states is an incredible feeling. there’s so much you can accomplish and look forward to without being unnecessarily in debt to “keep up” with everyone else. set goals, be smart, and enjoy the journey. it will feel much better when it happens.
  23. tournament fishing has become a huge passion the last couple seasons for me. i love everything about fun fishing, but i’ve always been such a competitive person my whole life that i NEED the completion involved. it makes me want to be better, and to perform better. applying that to the topic at hand i would say 100% ignoring the “dock talk” at tournaments. to fish what i am confident in and trusting my gut. the only person i want to blame is myself if i do not perform to my expectations.
  24. i use palomar knot for everything with the exception of flipping hooks. can’t recall ever having the actual knot fail
  25. yeah that’s what i meant by “a brand with two numbers”. i couldn’t remember if their name was blacklisted on here or not
