Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
My TW 25 days order will show up tomorrow, it is 25 packs of Jackall Archelons. Jackall doesn't have them on their website when I last looked so was afraid they were discontinuing them. So stocked up! Lol

Plug knocker
I just bought the Big Bite Baits knocker, it is like $3. Figure if it doesn't work didn't lose much!

What do you have to force yourself to do in 2020?
I have to gain the confidence and force myself to take the boat out and fish on my own more often, my fishing partners suck. (Can't pull their heads out of their you know whats long enough to go fishing). Last year was the first year I have owned a boat and was a little iffy going out by myself. Also need to force myself to fish finesse more than I have been.

rod brand
Dobyns Fury line, Dobyns Colt line, Shimano SLX rods. A lot of great rods in that price range, go handle some at your local shop and figure out which ones fit you best. To me rods and reels are not something you buy online, but that is just me!

Googan Brand Rods?
Pretty sure they already have, I have watched videos from each of them where they have went on private property even though it was posted just to fish! Now as far as I am concerned that is leading people astray. They and others on YouTube have no respect for others property, which sends the wrong message to a world that already has no respect for others!

2019 Review - Which lures/presentations caught largemouth over 5lbs for you?
Black buzzbait with silver blade

"DOWN FOR THE COUNT"
Oh please don't do the Googan thing! Lol. Missile makes good baits.

"DOWN FOR THE COUNT"
Maybe try the Missile Baits Destroyer, it is a six inch bait with some of the same characteristics as the one you are talking about

What lures did you lose the most in 2019?
Ned rigs, and that was mostly in one trip to NY to fish with my brother. Had to go to Bass pro about halfway through the week to get more heads.

CBD revistited
I have just started taking CBD oil, thought I would try it for my back pain. So far have been pleasantly surprised and happy with it. Haven't had the back pain since I started using it! Tylenol and ibuprofen don't touch it so had to try something different. Don't do pain pills because there is a history of addiction in my family, so the oil is the best thing I could think to try. So glad I did!

Fly tying materials recommendations
Bobbins just make sure it has a ceramic insert where the thread comes out the top, if not you stand the chance of damaging the thread. I would recommend Dr Slick tools, they are the best bang for the buck as far as I am concerned! Thread Danville 210 denier. For sources I buy my fly materials from J Stockard, Feather-Craft, and Mad River Outfitters.

My new (used) boat
When the wife says something like that, you don't ask questions, you just head to the local boat shop! Lol. Congrats on the new boat!
-
So what did you get?
Wife got me all kinds of new stuff! Sun shirts, light duty rain suit, auto/ manual life vest

Frogs, Stumps, and Winter
I have had bass launch out after a bait here in Ohio as well, seems like it may be a magic water temp that causes them to get that active!

Braid TO FC Leader
I use braid to a leader, usually mono. I don't like Fluorocarbon, but that is just my preference. But like said above, try it different ways and see what you like.

Jeaux Burreaux
My wife and I both went to Hocking Tech, spent a few years in that area. Joe was not lying when he said people don't have much in that area. Other than Hocking and Ohio U there is not much else to speak of in that area. Glad he brought attention to the folks in that area that needed help, all that money they raised will maybe put a dent into some of the poverty in that area!

FYI - For Y'all's Information
I thought the same thing about the new MP, all of my casting reels are MB's but needed a left handed 8:3.1 so decided to order the MP. It is actually a nice looking reel once in hand. The red is actually not that bad in person, in my opinion! Nice reel from the little bit I have messed with it since getting it.

Reel Gear ratio to Rod an line question
The 8.1 definitely on the flipping rod, the 7 is too fast for a cranking rod in my opinion. Cranking reel is usually in the 5:6.1 gear ratio range. At least that is what I use, the 7 is what I use for just about every other bait I throw.

Fun Christmas Idea
Sounds like a neat idea! Best of luck on that 6 pack!
