Giving fluoro a fair shot
I use 10#, 12# and 15# fluorocarbon on my bait casters. I would use it on spinning setups if it would work. Some of my specialty casting rods have super small eyes and even an fg knot won’t work.

Falcon Cara / Expert Durability
I have a Cara which was 7’ h which was made by Ark Rods several years ago. I use it for Arigs and Crigs.

Was it me or conditions?
Our lakes are high also. Spinnerbait has been working as will as flipping the brush. Also plastics near the old shoreline have produced.

Shimano Chronarch?
I had one for a very short time. It now lives in NY.

Carolina Rig and Palomar knots.
That’s the only kind of knot that one of my fishing buddies uses with fluorocarbon. I prefer the Pitzen.
- Is fluoro leader to braided mainline a bad idea for me?

Night fishing - swim jigs
If you have more than one setup rig up another color and alternate them.

Is there a better solution for using a snap with a spinnerbait than a little dental rubber band?
I use 24 gauge craft wire instead of the braid sometimes then cover it with the white shrink tube in the dollar pack at Harbor Freight Tools. The tubing keeps everything smooth.

Do you get burned out from fishing the same spots?
Not this year. We are catching 30-50 small and large mouth in the same areas every time we’ve gone.

Is it More Expensive to Fish Soft Plastics or Hardbaits?
The day I lost 5 Rock Krawlers it was definitely hard baits. On a regular day I will lose more jigs than shaky worms.

Do new plastics start drying out as soon as you take them out of the package?
Yes it is a Flambeau.

as our local lakes warm up for summer. carolina rigging?
I keep one tied on all the time post spawn. I’m old school with homemade sinker, bead, swivel and leader. I normally use it on flats if the jig isn’t working.

Not that I have ever seen. I have several dozen plastics that have been out of the package for at least 2 years.

I wrap the R with braid then cover it with shrink tubing. Additionally it keeps the wire from deforming when boating a fish thus increasing the life of the bait.

Curado BFS
I don’t plan to use anything over 1/8 oz with this setup. I doubt this rod could handle a 3/8 oz bait.

I am officially a jig man.
If you want to get good with a jig, leave everything else at home.

Carolina rig in deep rocks
I use cylinder sinkers in 3/4 and 1 oz. Mostly in rocky areas looking for smallmouth. I’ve never lost more than 1 a day.

Curado BFS
Thanks. I will rarely use heavier than 1/8. I have other setups for that.

Spinnerbait reel
There are different schools of thought on reel speed for spinner baits. I am in the fast group. I would rather slow my retrieve when working it and get it back quickly when needed. So I run 7:1 reels on my spinner bait rods except for A rigs then it’s 5:1.

Curado BFS
I know that I am late to the show. I am having shoulder trouble and trying to avoid surgery so for now my regular spinning setups stay in the rod locker. I do a lot of Ned rig and small swim bait fishing. I have the swim bait taken care of. After a 9 day wait I got a Curado BFS reel in last night. I have it dialed in to my satisfaction with a 5/32 head. It has been the best weight for a while but I know that is going to change. My question to you folks who have one, do you normally make adjustments when going lighter or heavier? If so what kind of adjustments are you making?

What's The Average Service Life Of A Transducer?
They rarely go bad. If it were me I’d talk to Garmin before buying one. It might be something in the head unit or they might give you a price break.
