  1. Yeah, gotta be honest, it was a very tasty fish. Wife has already ordered a filet knife from Amazon. ?
  2. Wife and I were camping on a lake and as I was leaving to go fishing she asked me to bring her back a fish as she always does and I never do. Was throwing a weightless Senko and hung a good one, 4.0 hook right through the gill plate so cut the barb and backed the hook out. The bleeding started and the fished succumbed after 15 minutes, I tried. Worse part, trolled over to shore where fish was caught and see large female on bed, I caught the 2 1/2# male and she looked 5 or 6. Best part, wife was so excited, grabbed the fish off the boat, scaled it, gutted it and seasoned it. Cooked it on the open fire and it was actually a delicacy. Wife said " SEE ". lol Still not keeping any unless the unfortunate happens.
  3. I say the fish could live with the experience......up until the kissing and photo shoot began.
  4. Suspending Jerkbaits was the go to bait last year, pre-spawn. This year I've actually caught more on a Ned and whopper plopper. BUT we've had much more erratic weather this year. I wouldn't have qualified for a single tournament this year. Lol
  5. This year may very well be different than Last year regarding water temps. We're under a freeze warning for may 12th here in VA. Last year was my best year ever, this year not so much. Keep slinging baits til they get bit.
  6. Oh, lots of memories creeping up. Minnow buckets, seining nets, mad Tom's, stringers........then I saw a Rapala that I could throw over and over.
  7. Good looking frog water, sweet.
  8. WV doesn't really have any big Lakes but Stonewall has a lot of shoreline. I fish it and Randolph Jennings mostly.
  9. That's it ! I had to actually Google it.

Here in the mountains, we've not seen many cicadas, just sporadic. The few that I do see usually has a giant Asian hornet mauling it to death......something to see.
  11. I fish nothing but small resivours with the Bass 100......rivers are virtually impossible with raising and lowering the motor pod.
  12. To put things into perspective, took the top off Jeep last year on April 2nd. It is now May 11 and haven't even considered taking the top off.....41* this morning. Last year at this time, had 3 fish over 5lbs and around 50+ fish. This year I'm under 20 fish and 2 lbs was biggest fish but wind has played a major role as well. Heading out to another lake for 3 days, hopefully will get into a good one.
  13. Been fishing out of the Jonny 100 since it's introduction, with the motor pod. It's stable, it's heavy but a great fishing platform in smaller bodies of water. I've modified mine with a foot throttle vs leaning forward and turning a knob. Also have the Vibe seaghost 110 for paddle fishing. Both boats are robust and well built.
  14. Ahhh, your looking for an Express delivery of shine. ?
  15. Yep, it's gonna happen and it's usually the hefty ones that swim off into the sunset.
  16. Did so many things. Army, carpenter, residential electrician, Cabinet maker, industrial crane operator, flip houses. I was the epitome of a workaholic my entire life when the wife said " PLEASE retire ". Lol Enjoying 2nd year of retirement as requested.
  17. Hang Gliders Kites Sail boats Been extremely windy here.
  18. Remember as a child getting terrible sunburns at the beach, peel and repeat. No such thing as sunscreen and never heard of skin cancer back then. Fast forward and hearing many more cases of skin cancer, likely due to the ozone.......I smell like sunscreen all summer.
  19. Hummingbirds are amazing little birds and surprisingly selfish around the feeders. We have so many of them, have to keep 5 feeders up and running to reduce the aggression.
  20. Submerged timber, standing timber, overhanging timber on sunny days.
  21. Similar threads keep popping up for a reason......the weather has SUCKED. Hope ya'll " weathered " the Covid well.
  22. Forgot to add a lol.....was kidding.
  23. If they are not feeding heavily and aggressively, I don't go.
  24. I've fished that lake and Stonewall just north. Wife and I spend a week every year in that area, beautiful country.
  25. I'm way off the pace from last year in size and quantity, the main culprit being a steady dose of cold fronts and wind.
