  1. Hit any visible structure first but that flat in blue surrounded by deep water has to hold fish.
  2. Best stuff I've found is Aerospace 303 UV protectant. I buy it by the gallon and works on any vinyl, plastic and fiberglass.
  3. I recently spent 7 days on a 2800 acre lake, water was very clear. Never once threw a hard bait except the wife's beetle spin, she wanted bluegill. Caught every fish the entire week on 3 baits. Zoom speed craw on 1/8 Shakyhead. Robo worm" Aaron's magic" on dropshot. Jackall flickShake on 1/16 Wacky head. I love my Spinnerbaits and cranks but many times soft plastics will simply out perform.
  4. Only big worm I throw because of abundant inventory is 10" Mann's jelly worm on 1/2 oz T-rig. 5/0 hook on MH rod, fun.

    Welcome to Bass Resources.
  6. Yes and I wasn't kidding about yesterday. Forecast said 6-8 mph west winds and was limited to 3/4 oz jigs and Spinnerbaits......30 mph gusts. When I happened to hook a fish , had to get on the trolling motor and head for open water just to allow time to fight and unhook the fish. Next time it's forecasted for high winds, I'll be on the water at daylight ?
  7. I know the drill, been there. Working 6 days a week, 2 kids in school playing sports, wife going back to school. Sold my Bass boat as I never had time to go. BUT that was yesteryear and at 62 have been blessed with good health and been taking advantage of it. Bought another boat and fish 3 days per week. Think I'm developing tennis elbow ?
  8. My opinion is biased because I've used nothing but Garmin from day 1 and got use to the function and menu's. My fishing partner uses nothing but Hummingbird so perhaps it's what you get use to.
  9. Weather man said calm today so headed to my favorite " VERY CLEAR " lake and rigged up finesse last evening, Drop shot, flickShake and Mojo. Got on the water early to white caps and had to completely change my game plan. Weather men are the biggest liars and a disgrace to society ?
  10. I use straight braid on all moving baits and can't remember the last time I had a break off. Only fish from a boat so usually a simple re-position frees the bait. The few times that I had to break straight braid, just used the net handle.
  11. It's there but I've never used it.
  12. I've never once paid attention to a number and once the magnet is dialed, only focused on the spool tensioner from there depending on the weight of bait. My boat is full of Lew's and never looked. But I do understand you're frustration on a very new reel.
  13. Cloudy days with calm water ?. WP is fun to throw, glad it came through for you today.
  14. From personal experience, the least fighting fish I've ever caught was Pickerel. Guess they're like a cheetah, fast but wear out quick.
  15. Nice report and certainly sounds like a good time was had.

    Beautiful fish, congratulations ?
  17. Just came apon this thread and it rekindled the nightmares of straight fluorocarbon on spinning. ? Braid to leader will prevent profanity.
  18. Atlanta has the best record in the NL and Acuna Jr is healthy, not sure who you'd have better in the NL. Tampa in the AL had the hot start but came back to earth.
  19. As an avid baseball fan, really believe the Braves are the best team in baseball. Mets wouldn't even be mentioned without Buckner, sorry. Mookie, Strawberry yeah I know.
  20. I catch quite a few Crappie while bass fishing, especially throwing Spinnerbaits and occasionally a weightless stick worm.
  21. Another fish comes to mind pound for pound.....Rock bass. Some people refer to them as goggle eye and red eye.
  22. My cage does not rattle easily but today it got rattled. So my truck and the wife's car had free oil changes for 2 years, both bought at the same dealership and both expired. So today I changed oil in both and it wasn't pleasant. Drain pan bolts were torqued like a lug nut, needed a 2 foot breaker bar and a prayer. Filters were so tight I needed oversized pliers and the gaskets were left smashed to the vehicle. Undercarriage removal on the wife's Honda was when the inappropriate language reared it's ugly head as I stripped a few Phillips heads.......way over torqued. Next time will be MUCH easier.
  23. The Alberto knot is the only leader knot I've ever tied and every break off has been at the hook. 7 up 7 back and finish with line opposite of how it entered. For reference I use 15# PP braid to 8# Sunline Snyper.
