  1. Inshore rod. Best bet is to take it into the store and try it on rods ...
  2. IMO Miravel is the best option on paper. Light weight and worm gear which you probably wont find in any other reel at that price point.
  3. I'd set up the other Stradic for smaller hard jerkbaits since you already have the reel. These have been extremely productive for me in cold water. Also agree with the above, MH/F.
  4. I had an Ethos HD. Hard to describe it but to me it felt great in store but average on the water. I'm not sure what exactly it was about it. Felt light in hand and crisp but didn't have the sensitivity I expected. My rods also tend to be inexpensive but for the price id go SLX instead.
  5. That part itself looks fine. Are the spool washers installed correctly on the main shaft?
  6. more importantly whats actually wrong with it??
  7. I believe its liquid fluoro like whats used in medical applications? I might be wrong but I think it's unrelated to fishing line and doubt fishing line makes up a large volume of overall fluoro use
  8. Pull the bearings, shims and anything else that you might be able to repurpose
  9. Go JDM and get anything Shimano C2000S sized. IMO its the ideal size until you get into the true SUL rods. 1000 size body, shallow spool just a great size.
  10. Do you have any baits that your current combos don't work for? Or any you want to try? Basic bases seem well covered ...
  11. I went to stripersonline a couple of times as a teenager can't say it was on purpose ...
  12. That c-clip is usually the biggest one on the reel. You can even hold the back of the clip with your index finger and use the fingernail from both thumbs to press it out. No need to be scared of working on your reel.
  13. Thats a bigger clip. Small screwdriver to remove just use your hands/fingernail to put it back on
  14. Insert the spring then the caps on each end. Gently put on the gear. The nylon or whatever plastic gear is the only thing holding the pins/spring. It all ultimately gets held together by the c-clip that retains the bearing.
  15. Is there a market for fisherman autographs?
  16. I'd check bearings first. Try indexing the gears too (probably not the right term, but just move them around to diff positions). *Edit that may just be spinning.
  17. That one ugly calcutta. I dont own one but i think thats what you want lol
  18. Yeah idk why i said G its a Curado D series. Your comment struck me as odd as it was highly praised in tackletours review.
  19. I like the build on the I better but honestly after just a couple of outings with a Curado G its so much better IMO. Sure its heavier, but for me its way easier to dial in and the construction overall just feels higher quality.
  20. Yeah, not sure they would be in a rush to clear out shelves unless they have something to restock them with so I'm sure theres something in the pipeline.
  21. If you're comfortable opening her up then go for it. Might just be the clutch pawl assembly coming off the guide in the frame and all you have to do is pop it back in.
  22. IMO for most bass fishing the strength of gears doesn't come into play. Maybe I don't fish em hard enough, replace reels too often, or keep the drag too lose but I've yet to strip gears or wear them down to where they need replacement on a reel.
  23. How old is the reel? You stated you hadn't taken it apart before it popped off the first time. That is def not something that should happen.
