  1. I had a fire that destroyed pretty much all the fishing gear I owned 3 years ago(Including my boat and tackle passed down from my father.) I am just now getting back to comfortable levels of gear.
  2. I'd like to think of Lake Norman as a shining example of this. You will be hard put to find a spotted bass over the 2 pound average in Norman. I'm not saying it's not possible because I have seen some 5+ pound spots come out of Normie just not likely. I have never caught a largemouth in Norman. Not that they're not there but I'm a spotted bass guy from Hartwell so i stick with what I know. So much so that it's become a numbers lake. The last tournament I fished on Norman The winning bag to smallest bag was from 12 pounds to 8 pounds out of a 50 boat tourney.
  3. I can skip a senko from here to eternity. Anything else I'm sitting on the deck with a pair of scissors cuttting out backlash. lol
  4. Cobb ruined my chances of scoring well. Story of my life. My other 4 are in the top 20 with Howell in the top 5.

Sometimes it sucks watching the bass guys fish your home lake. I'm sitting here watching Powroznick wear em out in one of my favorites hole to fish. lol Makes me wanna go throw the boat in and heckle his butt till he leaves my fish alone. 😂
  6. I did not have any issue when I had a Revo X on there throwing a balsa square. I wouldn't imagine that changing the reel would make a difference in how the rod acts would it? Or could it?
  7. It's a cranking rod. From Native Rod Company. I think they went out of business a few years ago.
  8. This seems most likely the cause as I tend to fill my spools pretty full. The Spool on the premiere holds a ton of line so I'll take off some of the line.
  9. I don't reuse trailers but I always make sure to remove any soft plastics from hooks before I put the boat away after a day of fishing. The only trailers I ever re-used was uncle Josh pork frogs back in the day.
  10. I use 20lb flouro on my Jigging rod but my flipping stick which I throw a punch rig on I use 50lb braid.
  11. I got started with ONS fishing as a veteran co-angler and it did so much for me so when I got a boat the first thing I wanted to do was switch over to the host boater side and take somebody else so they could hopefully get the same thing out of it I did.
  12. I lost a good sized one today because while my partner was being slow with the net I looked at him and quit paying attention to the fish and boop off she came.
  13. I'll take a look in the morning. I am at a hotel tonight and the boat is all locked up and covered and it would take me a bit to get into it.
  14. Bought a gen 5 Abu Revo Premiere at a show awhile back in 8.1:1. I had it paired with a 7'2 medium fast rod I use for squarebills and I was having all kinds of backlash issues with it today. This was my first time using it. I had it spooled with 12lb. Sunline sniper. I don't have issues fishing baitcasters and have been fishing them for 30 years. Supposed to be able to handle lighter baits with no problems but I was throwing a Rocco balsa squarebill and I had to tighten the spool tension way over what I felt it should be and had to turn the brakes all the way up. ANY ADVICE? I feel like I'm missing something but I can't figure out what it could be since I am very familiar with using baitcasters. I really want to like this reel but it is driving me crazy.
  15. I use a box call when they are out far and a slate when they get in closer. I don't use a mouth call because i am not that talented.
  16. Ive always had to treat Lake Jordan Largemouth like Florida bass. They are very finnicky about the cold.
  17. I was having the same problem until a buddy of mine looked at me and said the trailer is drive on, not float on.
  18. This week had us(Operation North State) taking our vets out on Badin Lake in New London NC. 43 boat field and we rode the struggle bus today but for my Veteran Mr. Juan, an army cook, a picture is worth a thousand words. He hooked into a 5 pound stocker striped bass on a medium spinning outfit with a weightless fluke on it and 8 pound test. He had the fight of his life. He told me that one fish made his whole year so far. We caught him first thing in the morning and managed to boat this one little 2 pounder at the buzzer so at least we had a fish to weigh in. Lots of fish on the beds but we were having trouble seeing them with the overcast condition and our old eyes.😂 The dinner however was top notch put on by the Badin lake fire department and all the fine folks of the Badin lake community.

I picked Randy for my fantasy team as I knew he is always a contender on Hartwell. However I always have one that is underperforming when he should be a hammer for the event. I felt like I had a solid team for this event. I have Howell, McKinney, Walters, Cobb, and JLee. Brandon Cobb get your crap together!😂
  20. I mean what do you expect from a former Chippendales dancer? 😂
  21. That's how I got my Stratos. Went to the dealership looking for a Tracker Pro 190TX and my boat had just came in on consignment and me and the wife decided it was a better all around fit for the family at a cheaper price. Plus my dealership gave me the warranty for the boat and motor for the duration of the loan.
  22. Only time I wear a helmet on the boat is running down the lake with temps below freezing.
  23. I would classify a search bait as the powerfishing bait that you have the most confidence in and can cover water with that is considered a high percentage bait.. It doesn't necessarily have to catch them. I use a weightless fluke as my "search bait" most of the time and I will get alot of follows. If I start getting a bunch of follows and turn aways at the boat in an area then I know fish are there and will slow down and try to figure out what they will bite. Catching with a search bait is great, but not essential to finding the fish.
  24. Another vote for Jordan just watch out for the trees.
  25. I am an Abu man but I can say one thing for sure the new Revo X spinning reels are about the crappiest design ive ever seen in a spinning reel.
