I'm not sure it has...been getting my a#$ kicked lately.

I own that model Tharp, that exact fury and a mojo 7ft 1 mh f. Out of those 3 I'd take the Tharp hands down. Will say it is on the powerful side of MH..is that's a factor the fury is softer .

That's not bad at all. My lady bought me a set last year from black lantern...$31 for the pair. Unfortunately we broke both in under a year.

Yes it was. Although he ain't said it much this year...for the reason I mentioned. It was his funny take on the boy we could use some rain- how's the crop this year?-can you believe gas prices? Crap we hear everyday from the old guys in the cafe and gas stations sitting around drinking coffee.

I caught bass last October on a popper up here in Northwest Iowa. Not sure on water temp...but id guess low 50s range. My buddy Brian caught our first top water fish this spring on a popper in water around 50.

Not really here. We have guys cutting full fields for silage that have never been used for that since I've lived here. We have had terrible drought conditions for a long time. Alot of the fields around here in a good year can average over 200 bushels an acre...heard lots of talk of fields at 30-50 bushels an acre this year. Even some guys around here with only stalks...no ears on them. The lead grain buyer at my plant has worked there since it opened almost 19 years ago..said he's never seen it like this. He's having to pull from much farther away so we are paying out the a#$ just to have corn for our Ethanol process. Real bright side is I've been catching plenty of catfish to eat!

You guys are making me jealous. Over here in Iowa ive had 2 skunks and a 1 fish outing in my last 3 bass endeavors. I've switched over to catfish just to feel some pull.

Knock on wood I've never had anything stolen. That said the house next door to me is a rental and I've heard the new renters like to help themselves to other peoples things. For my sake and his I hope that's not true.

Its not now...it was different when I lived there 25 years ago.

So I've mentioned on here a few times that my local lake has a small population of smallies. The past two years we've been under drought conditions and I haven't caught any. The 2 years prior I probably caught 30 in 2 seasons. This summer I've heard a couple reports of one being caught...last week I heard a first hand report of a nice one being caught. I've got the area selected...rocky, long points, access to deeper water nearby. Here's where I'm looking for some suggestions: I've got a Carolina rigged speed craw, a dark sleeper and a rugby head big TRD tied on. I'm fishing from shore. Anything I'm missing?

I grew up in Harris county Texas in the 90s...I heard a statistic once that at that time it was the most dangerous place in the United States. Not sure if that's true but it was bad. The last 20 years I've lived in a town of 2300 people in Iowa...I'd never move back to a city.

So looking for opinions here...which one do you like more and why? Haven't thrown either enough to have an opinion of my own...just looking for some direction

What the hell is that thing? Looks like a bass but I haven't seen one in so long I can't be sure.

Over the past few years I've tried to do some new stuff...both spots and baits...on my home lake. I know there are small mouth in there..albeit a rarely small population...but a few years back conditions were right and I caught probably 20-25 that year. Haven't had any the past 2 years with the drought \low water. But I've heard a few reports of one getting caught here and there so I've got non typical baits and spots in mind to challenge myself!

Maybe...but take that same scenario but put Clunn against John Cox and Clunn would get destroyed. I don't care that Clunn has been fishing longer than Cox has been alive...at this stage of the game John is a superior angler. I'm not taking anything away from Clunn , I love that guy and he's an absolute legend but age gets everybody in every sport eventually.

Went out fishing at 6...bass were a bust but ended up catching a drum and a nice catfish so it was still moderately productive. Only gonna be 82 here today...got a loin and a rack of baby backs on the smoker as we speak. Everybody enjoy it.
