I’m in a slump too. It’s aggravating to say the least. Sometimes a feller can make the right decisions about location , time , bait, retrieve, all the stuff we obsess about , and then the person standing next to me ( that I rigged with exactly what I’m using ) catches all the fish. That’s been happening for two months . It used to be a fun competition to see who could catch the most and biggest, now it’s a competition to see who can make the funniest jokes about how bad I suck. I’m okay with that. When they start pitying me I’m in trouble. Anyway, thanks for posting this and letting me bawl about trivial crap to the entire world.

I’ve towed and been towed. It just happens. Nothing bugs me quite like seeing boaters ignoring someone blowing a whistle. Especially when they are elderly. What kind of human excrement looks the person blowing the whistle in the eye and chooses to leave them in their wake ? Good on you Susky for helping.

Worms with a little shot of air work well. I usually use a light slip sinker with a tiny swivel and about a foot of line tied to a # 8 Aberdeen hook. If I’m fishing off the dock, live minnows a crank off the bottom gets the job done. Corn , power bait, little kastmaster spoons , rooster tails , stocker trout will eat them all.

The Hull Identification Number is a must. Game Warden asked me where mine was and I had no clue , so he found it for me. What a nice guy.

I pulled my Lews Hank Parker spinning rod out of storage a couple of days ago and went fishing. I’d forgotten how comfortable it is . More expensive doesn’t always equal better.

I used it for a while. It’s inferior to mono . Everything is . MONO RULZ !

I’ve been using the fishin fool for my terminal knot for a couple of years now and I really like it. Connector knot is still a uni to uni with 14 wraps on the braid and 7 wraps on the mono. Learned that from Aaron Martens videos. My loop knot is the one that runs through the eye and doubles back then wrap the lure three times through the loop. I don’t know what it’s called.
