What tactic have you completely given up on?
I gave up fishing very early in the morning. I figured that a 9:00am fish gives me the same pleasure as a 6:00am

Diy kayak transport
Look into that option, if you do the work yourself cost will not be that high. I have the 106 so Kind understand the weight issue. there are used trailers everywhere that with a little work and imagination you can get yourself something even better than using the roof of your car. installing a hitch in any car its super easy. I carried mine on the roof of my grand Cherokee, bought a very expensive Yakima roof rack and it was a struggle loading it. I could have spend less for the trailer and made it easier.

Diy kayak transport
Would you consider adding a hitch and an a harbor fright trailer?? hitch is cheap and trailer will still work for you after you change the car.

My Problem With YouTube Fishing Videos...
I'm going to be honest, I rather watch a video of a dumb guy catching an 8lbs bass with a Barby rod than a guy trying to sell me more crap or give me a secret that "will make all Pros mad" at least those guys are honest and are not saying that they are teaching me anything.

Are you saying I don't have to buy everything?? I thought that was part of fishing!!!- Only Took Me 65 Years
Better late than never! Welcome...- Hobie mirage passport or oldtown sportsman kayak?
Don't worry to much about it, you will be looking into how to add a motor in 6 months- Anchoring
There are swimbaits so large that when they get cast they make so much noise when hitting the water that the sound of an anchor coming down is nothing and still catch fish. I think we worry so much over everything.- SE Michigan lakes.
What I hopping to start the conversation on is more about good lakes and rivers, access is really important and I have found that there is not a lot of info on that. there hundreds of lakes that you drive by and see really fishy spots that you know there hiding in but just can find I way to to get in there! Thanks for your recommendations, I have Pontiac lake on top of the list this year. its good to know about the weeds!! orchard I have not tried, is very close to my place.. I been to Cass lake a few times, Its fun to drag a finesse jig on the sand for smallies.. so far nothing that big but nice numbers. I go there because its easy to launch from dodge park. Thanks for all these tips!! I have been on the St Clair metropark, while the place is great, its really been difficult figure out as the place its so big but I'm learning. it there a place where you can launch at Muscamoot bay and launch the kayak?? or should I go in the boat?? I really appreciate your comments.- Hobie mirage passport or oldtown sportsman kayak?
Pedal motion played a big part when I chose to go with the sportsman. I'm very used to cycling and pedaling in the standard motion made a huge difference. I have tried the Hobby pedal systems and while it has many advantages, pedaling like a bike made it way easier. I have a 106 PDL, I can take it to St Clair no issues with stability (big water and very large boats around). May not be as fast as the 120 but its very stable. Mine has now been modified were I can use it with only with paddles, the PDL or with a spot lock trolling motor. its great to have a platform that its so easy to adapt to the place I'm taking it.- Inactive members
Now I'm curios. Anyone care to tell the story??- SE Michigan lakes.
Hello SE Michigan Anglers. From what I seen, there are many of us from the area in this forum that I thought it could be interesting/useful to talk about our experience on lakes on our area. I move to the area not long ago and live in West Bloomfield, there are many lakes here but there isn't much info about them anywhere. I manly fish from a kayak (St. Clair in a boat) but I think I will cool if we share lakes, places to park at them, launches and even nice areas were bank fishing is possible. There are so many lakes near home that is sad that there is no access. I spent a good part of the season on Kent lake as its similar to the lakes I'm used to (mainly fished Texas and Mexico lakes) and know how to fish. Last season I spent time in Cass lake as its close to home, its been a great experience as fishing clear water for smallies is completely new to me. On this my third season on the area I'm ready to branch out. Let me know if anyone is interested in this conversation.- You get to retire/move to your Bass fishing dream lake/river.......what lake/river are you picking?
