  1. This is a great deal, thanks
  2. I prefer higher quality rods than reels. However, I will never buy a reel under $100-120, the quality is just not there. (casting, because spinning I wouldn't have issues)
  3. The A2 is a great frog reel, it's drag works great when winching them out of cover.
  4. I guess your experience will be much better than it was back then, reel tech has changed a lot since then. I would however save a little extra and get to the $100-$120 mark, at that point you will really find great options that will make your experience a much pleasant one. l live in MI so I have few months before I would really need a new reel. If you have that time, consider this. (Also, a big jump in quality) just a thought.
  5. I always got the feeling that they get some checks from Shimano and Megabass, the endorsement of Shimano over Daiwa is noticeable.. Just the idea that the Daiwa Zillion (a well regarded reel for most users in this site) its never used or recommended in their videos is incredible. (I'm not a Daiwa fanboy by the way, I'm manly Shimano but the Zillion is amazing) The Trigon grip is cool but reel seat feels cheap and I think if SC didn't push that so hard and let the word of mouth do the job people would be raving about it. Also, better pictures on the media release would have help, they are not as ugly in real life.
  6. Spinnerbaits. I used it once this year and only caught a rock bass. Didn't tie one again after..
  7. Never caught a bass on more than 15ft of water (intentionally), probably never even tried. Used Abu/Lews gear.
  8. With the help of active little kids.
  9. This year the monkey will not get me. I have so many unused baits that it makes no sense purchasing any more. Many of them have been in the package for years and just haven't even look at them after I get them. Same on rods and reels, I renewed my entire rod locker and kayak arsenal in the last 2 years with mid/higher-ish end gear and I'm still looking at more stuff that I really don't need (want yes) I got $75 credit in my Omnia account, I plan to order what I need trough the year using only that budget. No expensive new baits for me either, I got enough jackhammers and MB vision 110 to gift to pike for a couple of seasons.
  10. Half a dozen on one?? woow.. I'm lucky if I can get two out of one.. same on Senkos. that's why the $75 for consumables.
  11. I'm thinking about doing the same, I have $75 on Omnia credit and my plan is to survive with just that. What I really use I have plenty, I have bunch of stuff I bought and never used. I need something that really pushes me to use what I have instead of just accumulating more and more junk.
  12. I'm sure he thought he was a great swimmer
  13. Expride B 6'10" M or ML There are still some sales going on, may find it under your target price.
  14. winter sucks! (for fishing)
  15. That I'm not alone in this world of unnecessary purchases
  16. Well yes, I mean next spring. Boat and kayak have been in storage for the last few weeks.
  17. Well, would you believe that I also bought the Daiwa Fuego that is also listed above?? I bought the shallow spool Alpahas, Jerkbait season is coming.
  18. I hate this thread. I did not need this reel.. Hopefully I do when it arrives in December. Thanks!!
  19. Gera replied to Mobasser's topic in Fishing Tackle
Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding..... Walt Mart arround me dont carry much, I would take a pack of Gamakatsu hooks and some Senkos.
  20. I was about to ask the same!!
  21. ALF sales this year where amazing. I'm a Omnia premium member, I got like $50 store credit and still ended up buying an Expride B from ALF. TW sales where I think pretty gray.
  22. Did you guys got the original or firm?? I got the firm and I don't know if it was the right choice.
  23. That Phoenix looks awesome. Now, I don't buy gear just for how it looks.... well almost never.. I really, really try... I want one..
  24. How?? I lived in Mexico for a few years (2.5hrs from the TX border) and even there I had snow some winters.
  25. I use this same method for my FG knots, its simple and incredibly strong. I pre rig at home my spinning rods and a couple of rigs where I still use braid to leader. Its easy but still a pain to do in the water.
