  1. I’ve had 2 break, both M/L, one from abuse, the other during a cast. The first was an old rod I dropped the anchor on, STC replaced it under warranty. The 2nd was the first’s replacement, maybe 2 years old. My take is like most things, the new is not as good as the old. I passed on another and went with a Dobyn’s Fury. I much prefer the Premier.

Ya, 3 on 3 is a bit strange but it’s better then deciding by shootout, which comes after the 3 on 3.
  3. I have a more spinning rods then reels, they all have a purpose, other then just being extras, I might swap a reel 2 or 3 times a year. If I buy another reel or 2 there will no longer be a need. I have 2 BC rods and reels, no need to swap.

Andy Griffith or Kathy Bates? I’m old school.
  5. Saltwater, from shore, not exactly a bank. Freshwater, boat. Very limited access for bank fishing ponds or lakes around here. If it’s not someone’s yard it’s covered in rhododendrons or some such scrub.
  6. Noticed a Carolina Wren at the suet feeder a couple days ago. I hadn’t thought of it but we have a fox that prowls around the yard at night, might help with mice if we have/had any.
  7. Possibly, but I’ve not seen any signs of them. Keep in mind the ground is frozen solid here. Fwiw, my feeders are back in the trees, about 100’ from the house. I do catch a handful over the winter in the unheated shed when it’s not too cold, nothing when it is very cold.
  8. I get the same ones you do along with cardinals. Occasional visits from cowbirds, and a few starlings which will turn into flocks shortly. Oh yah, squirrels. I have 2 caged feeders for the small kids, a large metal one for sunflower, a double suet feeder, and a heated bird bath. Like you the most popular is the feed I toss on the ground, mostly for the Junco’s and squirrels. Won’t be long till the bears show up, hopefully I can time taking them down before they get destroyed, again. The highest I can get them up is about 7’, which isn’t high enough. Every now and then I find a pile of feathers and figure the hawks have to eat too.
  9. I remember it as a kid and probably would do it now if I was with the grandkids, I mean someone has to show them how to skip rocks, but not near folks fishing or swimming. Some people are just as dumb as, well, rocks.
  10. I do similar. Come the start of the season I get Prime, for both Xmas shipping and the Prime games, I cancel it as soon as they end. I also get SlingTV for the month of the college championship that are only on ESPN.
  11. Speaking of Gunsmoke. After retirement we spent some years traveling the country with an RV. I found a website (old time radio), that has all the old Gunsmoke radio episodes, we listened to many during those long days on the road. It got pretty addicting.
  12. Same happened the last time the Pats won the SB.
  13. I’m getting old, all I could think of is where could I go to the bathroom.
  14. My condolences Bob. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Private just means it’s not an official town road so they won’t take care of it. Here is the burbs of Springfield about half are private, as is ours, just no one knows it till it needs maintenance. In Ma the town gets $ from the state towards every mile of public roads, nada for private.
  16. Is it a public or private road? If it’s public isn’t there a street dept you could talk to about it? Where I am the plows working for the town can plow into the drive as they drive past it, I can’t imagine it’d be allowed to push the roads worth into just one driveway. If it’s private then see if you can come up with an option for where they can put it. Could they just push it off to the side of your access rd?
  17. There was a streaker? Shows how enthralled I was with the game.
  18. My congrats to Seattle, no doubt about who the better team is. A very boring game from this coast, went to bed at the end of the 3rd.
  19. Funny how they multiply, got to have 1 of each style.
  20. Thanks
  21. Not knowing what you have for tubes, but I can buy a 10’x2” pvc pipe for $15. Your tube and shipping to the buyer would need to less than or equal to that. Maybe if you could find someone local to buy.
  22. A-jay, is your workout routine posted somewhere in this megathread? If so, any idea where?
  23. There are very few I don’t like, they are all my favorites. My wife not so much. Most of the spaghetti westerns are pretty lame, most, not all.
  24. Went out and washed the vehicles just now, not bad other then the driveway turned to glare ice. 33*
  25. I’ve had a couple stations, never one that connects to the weather network if that’s what you are doing. Mine have been the mid range plastic one, that are good for a couple years, maybe. I write off differences between my house and local stations as microclimates, it’s the temp at my house vs the temp at theirs. I get a significant difference just between the open sunny front yard and the wooded back. I check like sensors side by side occasionally, and can check the against a Thermapen (+/- .5 F) if I want to really know. No idea about adjusting a sensor, might have to send it back.
