  1. We’ve got a few days of very low temps down here but nothing like what y’all are facing up north.
  2. So far so good! Right hand coming along better than the left and seeing as how I’m right handed anyway might can get a cast or two in before too long. ?
  3. Awesome fence Bob! Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
  4. Noticed them too. Figured Alex was scoping out new places to fish the lake from. ?
  5. What size are you looking for @AlabamaSpothunter? Specs? If I run across any I’ll let you know. Gonna have a good bit of downtime after tomorrow ?
  6. Remove 2 and I might fit! ? I’ve got 7 combos (8 after Christmas from what I’m told ?) but I tend to only take 4 with me at any given time. Here lately I’ve been using my spinning setups more than the casting ones. No boat here, just the ‘toon and fishing cart.
  7. A little late but looking forward to using these when spring rolls around. If not sooner ?. Really like the ones I’ve gotten from you previously Mike!
  8. Nice reel @DanielG! I’m looking to picking one of those up after Christmas. I like the Shimano spinning reels.
  9. Can’t say anything about this without incriminating myself ? but it was funny if someone was watching. No witnesses thankfully
  10. For real! Don’t feel so bad about not fishing last week now ?
  11. My condolences @Catt
  12. Surgery scheduled for Wednesday on both hands. Should be healed up and ready to fish again by the end of the year. ? I can rent some out for a couple weeks ?
  13. I’m in! Great cause!
  14. Awesome fish man! Y’all are killing it! We just got back home from a 7 day camping trip with no fishing involved. ? I see the doc in the morning about my hands and hope he can do both before the end of the year. The trigger finger has gotten so bad now both hands feel like they have 3rd degree burns. If I could train my feet to cast I’d be good! ?
  15. Ditto what @gimruis said. TW is just flat slow on shipping.
  16. I’m not saying nuthin here. Karma will bite me bad if I do.
  17. Hi Matt, welcome to BR! Great looking fish and congrats on your daughter’s PB!
  18. Mine just gives me ‘The Look’ and shakes her head. It’s scary I tell ya! ?
  19. We got hammered down here on the coast too. Thought some of that lightning was dropping on the camper a few times it got so bright. No real high winds thankfully but plenty of rain and fireworks. Tornado warnings stopped here around 8pm CT in our area. @AlabamaSpothunter how’s the SS Minnow II? ?
  20. Mine was more of a ‘have to’ situation. I spent around 40+ years in printing. From operating various printing presses from small to very large 3 story ones (newspaper). I also spent that time maintaining them and went through a machinist/millwright apprenticeship to be able to do my job better. In the last 5 years of that career I underwent 5 surgeries: back twice, both knees and torn rotator cuff. It was a pretty body abusing job. The last surgery I was told I would not be able to do manual labor again because the docs found irregularities with my heart. I could barely make it to the mailbox and back after the 5th surgery. I had a decision to make. Take disability and sit on my arse all day becoming addicted to daytime TV or find another way to make a living. With my wife working (4th grade teacher) it was a no-brainer. I was already into web development, light coding, Linux (various distros: Fedora, CentOS, etc.) so I tried working for a web hosting company from home. Everyone including the CEO worked remotely and my new career took off. Nowhere near the income I was making but I was helping with the bills. I wound up working for a few web hosting companies from 2012 to this year when I retired. It was a huge risk to jump to something new but I knew two things at the time: 1. If you don’t at least try, you’ll never know what the outcome will be and 2. My health wasn’t getting any better. 5 stents and several medications later and I’m doing better plus I was able to retire. My advice @KSanford33 is if the risk is worth the reward, go for it. If you don’t you’ll always wonder ‘what if’. ?
  21. Cheaper to use the flimsy boxes instead and bet the odds it’ll make it unscathed. ? Places like TW that use tubes ought to have a program where if you ship the tube back (on them) you get a discount on your next order. Recycling with a discount.
  22. I don’t really buy something based off a YT video by someone who swears by it. Especially when the links they post are all to an affiliate (which most YT’ers do admittedly). I tend to see how the lure performs and then look it up on the web for pros/cons on it. If it applies to what water I fish mostly I’ll give one a try. If it does well I’ll buy more of them. Now when I read here on BR about a lure someone has had a lot of luck with I may give it a try. Guess I tend to trust all you yahoos I only know from BR. ? If it’s on the internet, yadda, yadda, yadda. ?
  23. @LrgmouthShad We can do that! ?
  24. If I had it down for a rear bearing I’d go ahead and do both. Had an old Chevy pickup that loved eating gas gages for some reason. The stock ones anyway. 85 model I think. Finally put an aftermarket gage on it and it lasted until I sold it years later. Yeah, beaters got their charm, alright. ?
  25. Would like to when I get back. Currently in LA (Lower Alabama) on a camping trip. No fishing gear with me per my promise to my wife ? and we’re not 100 yards from the bay. Ugh! Was gonna try smuggling a rod or two but the only places to stash ‘em are in the bathroom or shower. Why are you all bundled up like it’s cold or sumpthin’? ? Come to Bama (The Dark Side) and fish in flip-flops! ?
