have you ever wondered why?
The old commercials were the best. I think the guy gets hung up and pulls a stump out of the water. I was like "dad! We need that line!"

Best sub $200 spinning reel
I've been thinking about getting a miravel. All of the research I've done so far shows it's in the Sahara/nasci family. Its placement is weird, if the information from an Australian article I read is right, it's pretty much a nasci made out of CI4+. So it's more like the Ultegra in the core series instead of being designed from the start as a MGL rotor reel, though it's labeled as a MGL reel. I would have already gotten one but I got the tatula LT from digitaka first.

Looking for a Medium power rod 6'10 M Fast
I've been looking for a Medium power rod in the 6'10 range to use as a sort of Finesse version of a MH rod. Weightless T-rigs, neko rigs, light swim baits, or other rigs I could come up with. I was thinking of something that length for bank fishing under trees or some close quarters. But my problem is all the good rods at that length seem to be targeted towards jerk baits with a mod/fast action, like the Expride 6'10 M. Does anyone have any experience with the Megabass Levante jerk bait special? I've heard it has a somewhat Fast action and works for other techniques. Or has anyone tried the IRod Britt's Finesse Swimmer? It's a 7'4 MF spinning rod converted to casting for finesse swimbaits and other techniques. It sounds exactly what I'm looking for, just a little long. Thanks for any information.

Okuma Aria? Looking to make a beater setup
No experience with the Aria reels but I have good luck with other models as beater reels. I used an Avenger on 6' previous gen lightning shock, and a few Ceymars in the 20 and 30 sizes. I like them so much I've been thinking about moving up to the next level and trying a ceymar HD.

Daiwa Zillion
I just got a metanium shallow spool and a zillion sv tw. I saw on hedgehog studio there's a SLP works shallow spool for the zillion. I was thinking about getting it till I realized the capacity of the stock spool is similar to the metaniums.

4 lb. Test Line for Dropshotting?
The lowest I have tried with FC is 5# Sniper. But thats because I know sniper is pretty strong. If I didn't mind using mono I would probably trust 4# big game. I've bent crappie jig hooks straight with 6 lb and caught channel cat with the same rod. So if I was going to try 4# it would be big game. Or ande mono.

New Tatula spinning reel
I just got the JDM Tatula LT not long ago too. 2500 Shallow spool. I better get the bearing kit from hedgehog studio before they switch to the new model. But I'm sure they'll still support the previous model for awhile

Shimano stuff
When I was a little kid, like kindergarten or 1st grade age I caught my first bass with a lure. My dad was so proud he got me a Bantam Bass One Mag reel for my birthday. I caught so many fish on that reel and used it for years. Up until we went striper fishing one year and blew it up. I went years never hearing of another Bantam, just Curados. Then they came out with a new Bantam in 2017. So to make a long story short I just ordered a 22 Bantam and hope to make new meories with it.

Rod selection decision
I usually just do a lot research to find the current favorite rod for a certain technique or price range. I used to try and stay at around $120 or less but I picked up the old Fantasista on sale for $150 and was blown away by the difference. The 7'3 MH Fantasista makes my 7 M Veritas feel like a broomstick. Now I want to try and find new rods as nice as the Fantasista but closer to the 200 price range. So I've been researching Exprides and Levantes.

Closest dobyns rod to the Shimano 6'10" med action
What action is the Expride's 6'10? On TW it shows as a moderate/fast while on Shimano's site it shows as a Fast.

Spinning Reel cost
Quality drag was discussed in some of the tackle advisors videos. Quality drag stacks are not the only thing that makes up the drag and why as you go up in price, the drag goes up. It also depends on the quality of the rotor. If there's flex in the rotor while fighting a big fish it will cause the drag to be inconsistent. A stout rotor will not flex as much during a fight so the drag is more consistent. This is also why I like to watch eliasfishing, he fishes inshore with small reels like fuegos and stradics and leans on them every video.

Spinning Reel cost
I have the JDM 2500 Shallow Spool version. I got mine recently too but so far its blown away all of my expectations I had after watching all of the Tackle Advisors videos that mention Tatulas. I haven't used it too much because I don't have the rod I want yet.

Don't watch Tackle Advisors, you'll end up buying a Tatula LT like I did ?

Improved Clinch , Trilene or Uni Knot ?
I agree with what others have said, the best knot is the one you can tie best. Or for me I can tie in the dark. My main knot is the improved clinch knot, I've been using it since I was a kid. If its light line I always do a simple knot on top and there's no slip. Drop shot knot is of course the Palomar knot. If I'm using light cheap line I'll use the double Palomar knot I saw someone use for Grouper. It gives two loops of line around the eye hook. Then I use the Albright knot for line to line. I know a lot of people online say the best is the FG, but like others say the Albright knot is my best knot I can tie and is stronger than my FG knot.

Opinion on reel condition
I baby my gear a little. I have a few beatr rods that I take with me more often because I'm not afraid to carry them in my car. I even tried buying used reels to see if I would treat them different. After I cleaned them up I started treating them like my other gear.

Please help me pick a reel to replace my Lews Tournament MB - Lews vs Shimano
I got the confirmation email this morning from digitaka that shallow spool edition shipped. So if OP ends up ordering one they're off their holiday now.

Spinning Reel - Shimano Ultegra, Diawa Tatula or ??
Yeah I just got a tatula 2500S and it might be a little small for a 7'4 rod. I couldn't find anything larger than a 2500 for the tatulas though

Please help me pick a reel to replace my Lews Tournament MB - Lews vs Shimano
I just ordered a Metanium Shallow spool right after Christmas and didn't know about the Japanese holiday. So it's been a long wait till they get back to work on the 10th. So just letting you know before you order. This has been me the last week or so

What fluorocarbon line works best for spinning gear?
I use 5 lb sniper on my drop shot reel (Tatula LT) and started switching over to basix for my lower end reels. I used to use P line copolymer because it was easier to manage but the strength was bad. I personally would rather deal with line twist over wind knots. One time I must have reeled up a wind knot onto the spool without noticing. So when I went to cast the braid just blew up through all my guides. I was like "hey this extra braid spool comes in handy" *tosses braid spool in trash, puts on FC spool*

High Speed Spinning Reels ?
Usually I'm not a fan of the revo spinning reels but the new generation about to come out sounds interesting. The new rocket will come with a 7.6:1 ratio while the winch will be rated at 4.8:1.
