New baitcasting setup?
I don't own a legend tournament rod but I have handled them before and they seem like a great choice. I think they might be my next rod purchase. As for a reel I recommend shimano reels. I have 5 and love everyone of them. I say you go for a Core it is an awesome reel, super light, casts a mile and looks bada$$.

Shimano Stradic FI
just unscrew the cap and switch sides if I'm not mistaken. Mine came out of the box on the right side so I never had to change it.

Building an aluminum bass boat?
No we haven't looked at the price of aluminum yet, but i'm sure it will be expensive. The boat will be all welded, both of us know how to weld, and his father has a metal working shop in his barn. So we should be alright, I know it is going to take a while to complete this job since we will only be able to work on it weekends. But I never said it would be done any time soon.

kevin van dam sig baitcaster
I don't own one but I was talking to the guy at the reel counter in bass pro shops today and He said that they get returned more than any other reel. Because people don't like the feel, and some of them have broken.

Building an aluminum bass boat?
Me and my buddy are thinking about building (from scratch) an aluminum bass boat. He is an Engineer, and I have a marketing degree but am also good with CAD drafting and design. Maybe some day we will be the next big thing in bass fishing. But we have a few question before we jump in on this project. What grade of aluminum would you recommend to be as strong as possible but at the same time weighing as little as possible? What size boat should we start with I was thinking 16'-18', he wants 19'-20'? Once the boat is completed, what would I have to do to register it? We plan on using a 75-100hp engine. It wont have a VIN # since it was hand built. Will we have to get a patent for it? If anyone has tried this please help us out.

Swimbait reel features
I too was wondering the same thing. Why isn't my cardiff 200a sufficient enough to throw swimbaits. It could hold plenty of line probably 180-200 yds of braid (8lb dia.) It's not like a bass is going to make a 100yd run.

Core/Metanium and Carrot/Cumara

favorite reel
Shimano all the way, I've got 1 stradic FI, 1 Cardiff 200, 2 Curado 200, and a Core 100mg. But for some reason that skeet Revo has been calling my name.....

I am surrounded by pros, but can't figure out where they are
I drove over the station camp bridge on 31-e this afternoon and saw the co-angler fighting a fish in the blue yamaha boat. I'm not sure which pro it was but atleast someone was catching fish today while I was working....

Falcon rod input?
***.com has one as their daily special today for $69 I think. Its a 6'6 ml casting, seemed like a good deal to me.

Pork Trailer (Uncle Josh) questions
If you twist the pork to one side they slide off pretty easily. I saw it on a hank parker show a long time ago.

Ugly Stiks... Mine broke and Who do I talk to???
Way to go, I've only ever heard of one other person breaking an ugly stick, but he got it caught in his garage door. LOL! The way I look at it, is your only out what $25-30. I would be mad if my carrot stix broke and E21 did nothing about it, but for an ugly stick I would just suck it up and take the loss.

Shimano reel clean and lube in nashville?
Does anyone know where I can get my reels cleaned a lubed in or around Nashville? I am not against sending it to reel mechanic, but if i can just drop it off and pick it up I would rather do that. None of the tackle shops I know of around percy priest do it and neither does Bass pro. Can any one help me?

I just bought my first roll of braided spiderwire...
you might want to attach a couple yards of mono as backing to the spool first. Then tie the spiderwire to the mono, and it should stop it from slipping. I like the blood knot for this, but there are others you can use.

Bad case of the dumbs on Kentucky Lake
Those TWRA guys can be a$$ clowns... they are always stopping me asking to see my license and what not. I've even had the same one stop me 3 times in one day.
