  1. Are you looking for a left hand version?? ;D ;D
  2. How are you guys wiring the power cable to your battery? Bare wire, clips? It says to use a in-line fuse 3amp made out of 18 gauge multi stranded copper wire if wiring direct to a battery like I am doing. Why in the hell dont they just provide this!!! I cant find anything like that.
  3. Just looking for some advice and opinions on how you guys with jon boats, crawdads, pretty much any small boat with no trailor, have your transducers mounted. I heard the suction cup mounts dont hold too well and am a little weary about mounting it to the bottom of my trolling motor. I have a 12 pelican gator and was wondering if any you guys have any neat ideas for portability. I pretty much have to drag the boat in and out of the water so the transducer would have to be installed and taken off in the water after launch and before landing.
  4. The only real way to get it level is to put it in the water and fill the boat up with water to the height you want the floor and mark it with permanent marker. This will gaurantee the boat is sitting right in the water and the floor is level with how it sits. The scum or water line on the outside is another pretty accurate way of telling how the boat sits level in the water and you can then transfer those marks inside and build your floor off that, but thats still guestimating becasue of the slopes of the hull.
  5. Why in the world are the users online list not in alphabetical order? Its a real PIA to look for someone the way it is now? Can this be changed?
  6. Cant beat the Citicas and Curados for the price they are at right now with the rebate!!!! I have both and love em
  7. Yeah I tend to get backlashes too. You would think seeing the spool isnt going as fast you wouldnt
  8. Thats gonna look sweet on the legend tourny bass rods!!!!
  9. Thats Strens new line Sonic braid. I dont think it is out yet, or it is just being released. I dont think many people have heard of or seen it yet.
  10. If you are of this mindset, you can also pull 3 and keep things balanced. Yep, every other one!
  11. Yeah I am leaning towrds that one too cause all good reviews. Seems the 565 had a few bad ones?
  12. I think I have narrowed my search down to one of these. Looking for opinions on both from owners of each and hopefully from someone who has experience with both. Or if you have another suggestion in the $20-$250 range feel free.
  13. I have a Citica 200 for sale in the flea market section that would be perfect for a Crucial. No matter what you decide if you dont want to lose the fish you have to up your line. 30-50lb braid should do the trick. Its small enough dia to cast fine but strong enough to pull the fish out of anything. Your rod will break before your line!!!
  14. The Revos S doesnt not have magnetic brakes it has centrifial brakes. But yes you push those orange tabs out. I would start with half on and see how you do. When turning them on use a symetrical pattern like every other one on, or directly across from each other etc...
  15. Check the flea market section. I have a Citica 200d for sale. Awesome reel for the money and very user freindly. I currently have both Curados and Citicas and cant really tell the difference between the 2. St Croix Avid casting rods are one of the best rods you can get for the money as well. I have last years model which I got for $99 from Dicks, You cant go wrong with a Citica/Curado on a St Croix Avid great setup!!!!!
  16. Put 20lb braid on that spinning rod and call it a day. 20lb is very small diameter and will cast like a dream and visibilty should not be a factor, color the last 4 ft with black marker. 20lb is plenty strong enough for the weeds
  17. Its a Shimano. Thats all you need to know. Shimano= quality
  18. I dont know about the side plate as all mine have been tight. As far as the smoothness, they need a good day on the water to break in the factory grease. It should loosen up.
  19. Yeah I have 5/0 owner weighted screw hooks (1/8 I think) for my Fathead Jr.s but they are too small and are tight to the body. I think 7/0 or 8/0 should do the trick. Mine swim allright so I am thinking 1/8 is about right for weight
  20. Good find!!!!! Thats gonna help alot of people. What weight are you guys recomending for 5.5 or all lengths for that matter
  21. quite a few people like the high speed reels for the applications you mentioned but its pretty much a preference thing. I dont own a high speed reel but would imagine it easier to slow down your pace with one of those than to try and speed up a lower ratio.
  22. I have both of those and I like the Shimano ones better because they slip on from behind the reel and slip over the line. The Daiwa ones are nicer and better built, but because it slides on from the side it pushes the line over.
  23. Saw Jason Quinn on a show and he opened a new spoon and he said you must add a split ring to it right out of the box or it just wouldnt work right. Why they dont do this from the factory is beyond me?? So I thought I would start a thread to get some of you guys' must do modifications to off the shelf lures. If you think a certain brand or specific lure needs hooks changed, split rings added, or whatever else you can think of post it here for everyone to see.
  24. Went to Dicks and Rapalas were 20% off and I had a $10 off $25 or more purchase. 2 Subwalks, 1 X-rap slashbait, 2 DT4s and some small swivel snaps and split rings!!!!!!
