  1. I will have to try it. Just doesnt seem like it would do anything except cover it up? I dont know how it can make it any better, but you guys say it works?
  2. I do not understand this method? Are you saying just reel in line OVER the backlash? How is that supposed to do anything?
  3. Nice pics they are always worth 1000 words!! Now how about telling everyone what each type of rod is best suited for what lures
  4. Steez 103ha $450 on a Loomis MBR 844 GLX $360= $810 retail but of course I didnt pay retail
  5. Pretty sure grease goes on the gears and oil on the bearings. I have a 2nd questions. Can I just add an aftermarket oil like hot sauce, reel butter or something like that to a stock bearing? Or do I need to clean them out and then use such product??
  6. seeing mostly topwater people will be responding I will ask here what kind of line do you guys prefer for topwaters. Braid, mono or flouro?
  7. Any discernable difference between the 2? I have an older white Stradic and like it and am looking for another spinning reel. I played with the Saros in BPS and it felt strong and smooth more so then my Stradic. Didnt get a chance to handle the new Stradic FI so just want to know if you think the extra $$ for the Stradic is justified??
  8. Thats exactly why I wont use a leader!! Its just another weak spot in the link!! I would suggest using a black marker to the last 6-8 ft of that braid, your only using 10lb PP anyways thats real small diameter. I have 20lb on my Stradic and can cast any bait a mile!!!
  9. I agree why pay more upfront when a few Ebay stores are selling for basically the total you will pay with the rebate without the 6-8 week wait. Some of these stores will even provide you with a store receipt (not an Ebay receipt) so you can send it in. Even if it doesnt work you still got the reel for the rebate price and if you do get the rebate you REALLY make out!! You got nothing to lose!!
  10. I have the same boat and I have a minnkota 55lb motor and it pushes it just fine. With the motor battery and charger you are looking at about $350-$400 and you are all set for the year, no more costs. Just charge the battery immediately after each use with a good "set it and forget it" charger and the battery should last a couple years.
  11. Toys for Big boys!!!
  12. I was looking at the new DTs and man they got some sweet looking paint jobs. Everyone complains about Rapalas price but I think they are better looking than the LCs and work just as good
  13. Awesome!! But why all stills and no video? Is there a rule or something? He seems like a good guy
  14. Dude I have that same dream. A couple others I have on a regular basis are; losing teeth, being scared for some reason and trying to yell or scream and have NO voice, and then there is one where I am in high school and forget my locker combination, miss classes, forget where classes are but somehow still manage to pass them??
  15. I think you will be happy with any one of those. I have an last years Stradic and its great. I have heard the symetre is just as good for a little less. I had a chance to play with the new Saros and it felt sweet , bettter than my older Stradic. All great reels
  16. Just use common sense and you can take it anywhere.
  17. Steez 103ha on Loomis MBR 782 glx, featherlite
  18. St Croix Avid, Shimano Crucial, are a couple in that range.
  19. Well if your reel has been good for 3 years you must have the older Stradic. He has the new FI series. I dont know if what he has going on would be the same in an older Stradic.
  20. If the revo was too small then the 100 series will be too. Get the 200. The D is the regular version the DSV is the deep spool, and the DPV is the power version I think is a lower ratio 5:1. Great reel you will be happy
  21. If you read what I said I didnt just suggest shimano :-? Its the only one I have experience with in his price range. I am sure the BPS stuff is alright but like I said for a couple more $$ I would go with a tried and true brand like Shimano, Daiwa. or Abu. I dont think many would disagree.
  22. Yep maybe new for that. But if you check the buy sell boards you can find used in the $200 range. I picked up a 782 GLX for $200 and a 844glx for $225 both mint!! Look around
  23. I dont know anything about those reels but if I had $80ish to spend I would bite the bullet and cough up another $20 maybe and be looking at a Citica (with rebate about this much) Revo S with a cheap reel trade in at BPS, Daiwa excelor, or Daiwa TD pro, or a plueger. Citica is the only one I can say anything about and will certainly suggest
  24. I have a 103ha and took it out yeaterday for my first time and had a hell of a time with backlashes. I am definetly gonna need practice as it aint for novices. I can cast my Citica all day but this is a different beast. I am not giving up yet as it is super smooth and light
