Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

Spent a couple hours flipping docks this morning.  Black/blue jig with a blue Zoom chunk trailer got the big one.  I also stuck a half dozen on a T rigged Biffle Bug.

6poundbass and I hit a local lake hoping for smallies. We got the skunk. We loaded the boat back up came home and launched at our lake. I caught a few pitching to lay downs (first time doing that, it was fun). The wife and MIL took our kayaks out. Later we picked them up and we all squeezed into the G3. I ran the TM and everyone else fished. 6poundbass wanted to try a spinnerbait, I guess that was a good choice because he caught a PB pike and the biggest I’ve seen caught in person. Not 20 minutes later my MIL gets a bite, she started reeling and freaking because it’s putting up such a fight. The rod is bent right over and she hands it to my wife. Long story short I net it weigh it and my MIL’s first bass she ever catches goes 4-8! So all in all it was a good day except nobody paid the guide!

My favorite lakes might be those with both green and brown bass - never know what you’re going to land..

Still burning gas and catching bass (from these faraway reservoirs).

About 10 blowups on a frog today in a little over 4 hours on the water.

Pretty sure three of them missed the bait. Hooked seven; one dove into a patch of pads and got lost before I could paddle over and dig it out. Landed couple small guys, one semi-decent one, and three good ones.

Got out for about2.5 hrs. After the rain finally stopped. Had 6 hits but only caught 2 of them 4 casts apart that weighed 3-2and 3-8 on a buzzbait.

Nice but bloody bass man. How the crappies over the henshaw? Last time I went there was 3 years ago and almost down my wife car( too shallow to launch at the lamp, had to use the lamp at the beach area).

After a terrible day on the water Monday, I had to take advantage of a somewhat cool morning after I got off work today. Went to the local lake closest to our new house that I haven't fished from a boat yet this year. Caught a bunch of little ones before I finally caught a good one on a KVD Rodent off a dock ladder.

Quite a few little ones later, found another Whopper Plopper (bone 110), and was just about to head to the ramp. I'd gone through all my Okeechobee craw, black and blue, and California craw KVD rodents, so I was flipping a Politician colored Big Bite Baits Yo-Momma when it got rocked right off a dock corner. Wasn't sure if I was going to swing into a cat or a big bass but no doubt it was a big fish from the bite. Turned out to be my new lake PB at 4.64, a really good fish for an extremely heavily pressured little city lake. Turned her loose and went home.

As a side note, it was my first time trying the new Big Bite Baits Kamikaze Swimon bladed jig trailer and it was legit. I was afraid that it wouldn't last with the thin plastic but it was still going strong after 10+ fish and a few tail pullers. The tails kind of kick independently of each other and look really nice in the water. Every fish I caught on my homemade bladed jig choked it, so they were liking what they were seeing.

Up in the finger lakes NY region. Got 11 lake trout Monday and a 6” SMB, wife got a fat 3lb SMB and a big fat about 25” laker. Kids caught some perch, lake trout, pickeral and fat rock bass (Skaneateles). The guide said it was a terrible day. Following day (Keuka) I got the skunk, but the wife landed a pickeral that was about 36” and my oldest son got one about 28” - I got a tiny perch, youngest son had a decent SMB.  Basically, my wife caught all the biggest fish and I am an expert at pulling not so big fish off the bottom of any water.

We we found a few nice LMB on Seneca lake that we’ll try to land from the bank. The problem is we couldn’t find a guide that specializes in bass. And the LMB are way harder to find with electronics.

Couldn't tell you, I see a lot of guys on the drift but very little catching.

That is a shame, i’ve heard on 2+ lbs crappies there but nothing recently. I love to drift at henshaw too but for catfish and crappies.

This summer is getting better and better.  I never thought in a million years that the Neco and Ned could produce like it has.

Todays best was a 6.1 and 5.4 and a bunch of 3 lb SM

Spent the whole day at it today. The big bass we saw foraging were gone. Wound up with nice bluegill action with some to 8oz. I got a 2lb carp and a 2-3lb catfish, that I dropped on the swing. We searched Seneca lake on the bank with no luck. My wife said to stop at a small body of water a few minutes from the hotel. She was right. Good thing we did. I finally broke the curse and caught the fish below—my first green pumpkin Senko fish in green pumpkin stained water. That is a 1lb 1oz fish, believe it or not. I only got a few all about that size all on GP senkos. Was dying though, because my reel had 1/3 a spool of line on it and kept nesting up halfway through each cast. And I could only cast 100’ max. My son did a little better.

Tough fishing yesterday, sharing a well-under-100-acres reservoir with 5 other boats.

Worked hard to catch a small limit. This one was the best of the bunch.

I did catch a big catfish on a double tail grub though, and that was pretty cool.

Found a new lake to checkout, picked the worst day to go out in a sit in kayak, started out cloudy then to a torrential downpour lol. Only stayed out for 3 hours, caught 2 1.5lb'rs and this 2.5lb'r. Top water bite.

V5YKV6kh.jpg

Went back to that same lake, got there late, 9am, and stayed till 6pm just as the bite was turning up. Caught a few dink 1.5lb fish, a 2.5lb and this 3lb. Slow day, very hot, sunny, no clouds, almost no action on the lily pads, and spent most of the day exploring and learning what to do. Not very productive fishing wise, but not a total bust.

I need to stick to going out after 3-4pm, or learn how to fish in the heat lol. Lake seemed to be 8-10ft deep, i should have tried to fish that deeper water vs throwing worms and frogs around vegetation all day.

Got my 3rd Thursday night tournament win of the year yesterday and big bass to boot. One of my all blue bladed jigs was getting the job done.

Hit the lake solo last night for a few hours. Started flipping and frogging in the pads while the sun was still high, didn’t get a bunch but got one decent, fat guy. Then as the sun dropped I flew back out to the main lake for smallmouth. Just got set up on a big flat off the side of an island, and in three casts, caught three decent ones on a popper, when a pontoon full of people shut down about 100yds from me. Once I saw the paddles, I knew they weren’t fishing. Idled over, and sure enough, the old guy didn’t check his gas can before heading out, so I lost about 20 min of prime topwater time towing them about 2 miles to their cottage. No biggie though, as I was able to blast back out and hammer a bunch more on top before it got too dark and they shut down again. No monsters, but it was nonstop action and they were all super fat and healthy with every fish jumping about 4 or 5 times each.
