Best All Around Crankbait Color

Featured Replies

Is there a color that will perform well in any water clarity and depth? Would black or Pearl be.a good choice?

Firetiger is a good color in most water conditions.

If I had to choose just one color it would probably be some kind of shad color or something like copper bream.

Baby bass, chartreuse craw, red craw.

Chartreuse black back, I've caught fish in everything from clear to muddy on this color.

Get what catches your eye as long as it's not crazy.

But if I had to answer I'd say a translucent bait or firetiger

Don't overlook firetiger in clear water, I've caught plenty on it, especially in choppy, windy conditions. Red or yellow craws work good in clear to moderately stained water.

I have never caught anything on firetiger.  Black back Chartreuse is my go to color no matter the conditions.  Rootbeer Chartreuse is quickly becoming my new fav though.

Idk, if there was truly a best color, proven beyond all others... I would use it exclusively. My faves are a few, Chartruse / Black. Limetrusese, Gill and sunfish, shad colors, as well as Gold... I like green craw patterns too....

I have had the most success all around on sexy shad.

My first choice most of the time is a shad colored crank.

Crawdad colors always seem to work. Forage fish colors always work as well (shad, perch, bluegill, etc).

Fire tiger, unless its spring then anything red.

Chrome black back, gold chrome black back, chrome blue back, firetiger. Those 4 colors have been around forever and they are still around, there must be a reason for it.

Oh boy here we go. I throw a ritual of baits and colors till I get action. If nothing happens on my first pass of throwing my ritual of baits I make a second pass while varying my presentations. Remember I'm fishing from shore. Here's my hottest colors. Note, all colors and sizes do work sooner or later.

Bomber A, fat A, model A size 05,

Baby bass orange bottom

Bass orange bottom

Redapplecraw best all around color red.

Greencraw

Browncraw

Dark greencraw

Citruese

Chartreuse blues

Chartruese

Rapala f7 minnow blue or black

Topwater spooks

Sexy Shad and Gizzard Shad are pretty much the only two colors in my tackle box.

My 2 go to colors are firetiger and red.

It´s very simple, you can do it as complicated as you want; ia have cranks in a rainbow of colors and patterns, I´m a sucker for a pretty painted crankbait. Or you can do it simple, those 4 colors I mentioned catch fish practically anywhere for me, I would add "shad" and "baby bass" if you are into the "match the hatch" school of thought ( personally I think it´s FOS ).

I'd have to say sexy shad would be my choice to throw in any water condition.

I like me some sexy shad also. They only thing better would be "very sexy shad" but I haven't found that yet.

White with black back

Chartruese with black back

craw pattern

Thats all there is to it lol
