What lures do you use when targeting smaller bass 12"-14"?

So far my only luck has been on the 1/4 oz johnson beetle spins.

I catch quite a few on a swimbait under 4in on a ball jig

I don't really target small bass. But sometimes I catch them on all the same baits I catch bigger ones on. T rigs, jerkbaits, fluke, cranks...

Strike king mini king spinnerbaits.

4 inch ribbon tail worms

Baby brush hog

Super fluke junior

Zoom speed craw/ rage tail baby craw

Smaller grubs

Storm wild eye live sunfish 2inch

Finesse jigs

1/8 cavitron buzz baits

Small hollow body frogs. Like booya pad crashed jr.

Anything really that has a smaller profile. Just down size a little and go light on the bullet weight for trigs.

Here's a suggestion. Works well for me. Remove the treble from the storm sun fish and take the spinner from the beetle spin. The Combine the sunfish and spinner. It stay some what weedless. Killer combo down here.

I catch small bass on every medium sized lure .

Thanks for the advice. I can fish all day with just the hopes of a big fish but the wife and son wanna catch more not bigger.

I forgot one: 1/8 oz Roadrunner. I've caught a lot of bass on it and it'll also catch crappie and larger bluegill.

 

I went with my friend this morning and we managed 4 small bass. He likes to troll jigs for crappie so we did. We caught 20 crappie and a bunch of small bass. These are 1/64 and 1/32 oz curly tail grubs. 

Just throw anything in my tackle box.

 

I catch more small bass on finesse worms like a 4 1/2 in zoom finesse worm on a shakey head hook and  also inline spinners like rooster tails or mepps.

A small Roadrunner is great for small bass.

Well that's most of what you will catch in my area. Tubes are number 1 when trying to get a limit. I hate using them because everyone else does, but dang they work!

They'll also hit 5" Senko style baits. I've even caught tiny bass on a Senko.

Rebel Tiny Wee Craw-this one slays the smaller and bigger bass. I even caught a 3 lb striper on one in the river.

When my wife gets bored with my hunt for the biggest bass in the lake, she starts throwing 3 inch grubs on light jig heads just to pull numbers.  It works very reliably.

You don't need to target 12" to 14" bass, they will target you.

That´s an easy one: 99% of the baits I try on a trip catch 12-14" bass, on any given day 90% of what I catch is less than 14" and I may catch one every 10-15 min, they are so abundant and cooperative that´s it´s hard to fish through them in order to catch bigger fish, not even big swim baits go unattended by those little critters.

Around here, the little ones will hit anything. I don't need a specific bait.

I catch my fair share of bass right down to 10 inches on hollow-body frogs. Besides that, in-line spinners will catch tons of small ones too. 

Thanks so much for all the advice! So far the old 1/4oz beetle spin has put more fish in the boat for my wife and son then any other lure. The wife is hungry for bigger fish but she always puts down the bigger baits for the smaller beetle spin that she has lots of confidence in.

3in Senko, t-rigged weightless.   Slays them all day, under all conditions. 

That's an even bigger mystery than "big bass" bass baits!

I'd say it's more about location, than bait. As long as it has hooks...

Drop shot any 3-4" plastic, they'll tear it up.
