Agree with @Tackleholic it’s a bummer.

With their current tick poor selection and inventory I personally would not have even ran or advertised this only to get people excited for near nothing.

When I looked on Amazon it said the seller was Dobyns so I "assumed" Dobyns were the ones shipping the rods.

 

The one I just bought from Omnia apparently is getting shipped from Dobyns. They better said the correct rod!

Poor folks in the Amazon warehouse probably have about 15 seconds to pull the order. The only identifying marks on the tube is a hand written sticker with the model number. Someone grabbed 702c instead of 702s oh well. Replacement will be here Friday and they're picking up the incorrect one tomorrow.

It's hidden have to scroll over to the right and select featured or unavailable options and it will show up in stock.

I would agree but apparently Omnia didn't have the rod in stock and Dobyns is shipping it.

 

I've been a huge fan of Omnia but this doesn't sit well with me as they don't advertise not having them in stock.

 

They are normally extremely good about shipping things right away, who knows how long it will take Dobyns.

This one might actually be on Dobyns unless Amazon is swapping rods between tubes.

Original shipping label from GSM and product label both show 702SF

One hand written label showing 702C. I had already opened the tube and confirmed it was the casting model.

Rod was still in the original plastic with 5 sections of bubble wrap in different areas around the blank, definitely not an Amazon packing job, tube end caps were also secured with heavy duty staples.

So who knows, hopefully the next one is correct like you said.

I used to get Sportsman's Guide catalogs in the mail back in the late 80's early 90's.

 

After a little bit of research, it's the same company.   

 

Looks like the founder Gary Olen passed away not long ago in 2022.
