I found this little guy, got a picture then lost it. Anyon know what it is? No markings whatsoever on it, and the hooks were extremely sharp.

Looks like one of the little crappie crankbaits they sell at Wal-Mart, not sure the brand.

The leaves are starting to fall and the shoreline grass is starting to die, so I'll be bringing the lure retriever with me in the yak to start picking up everyone's lost lures from this season. I went the day after this picture was taken and added probably 2/3 as many but didn't take a picture.

  • This was probably a nice spinnerbait back in its day, but I can guarantee the owner never caught a fish on it ?

  • Found 2 rods on shore this year at the creek. Seemed odd. I fished later than normal hoping the owner would come back, guarding the rods from would be thiefs. When nobody came for them I took them hom

Found another pair of needle nose pliers today. That makes 3 pair this year.

Anyone have an ID on the wake bait or jerkbait? I'll get better pictures if need be.

Postscript. I got home and cleaned the jerkbait up (the crank too) and I see that it has the front hook hanger is turned 90 degress to normal. That should be a dead giveaway to someone familiar with this model. I'll get some better pictures tomorrow in the daylight.

The last two appears to be a KVD Jerkbait 100 2 hook Sexy Shad.

Found the crankbait, it's a KVD Shallow crankbait https://www.strikeking.com/en/shop/hard-baits/hckvds1.5sh?srsltid=AfmBOooOUsjlr9GwV_5Tlx4QmKxUYRLinWV5FO5uxx05Kh8E7eveipLzThat's a fine score.

I don't think the jerkbait is a KVD 100 or 200. The gills aren't right.

Better pictures of the jerkbait. I appreciate the help if anyone could identify it.

Note the shallow scoop in the bill.

@Bazoo, that paint scheme looks very similar to old BPS XPS jerkbaits.  Agree the hook hanger looks weird.  Maybe an Ali Express special

Thanks @Choporoz. I have, or had one of those in firetiger. I'll have to check the extra box and see if it's still there. But I looked up a picture and it doesn't have a twisted hook hanger.

The quality of this seems to be better than "the cheapest money can buy". I haven't hooked it to see if it is suspending or not, and that will help narrow it down.

Snagged up a Whopper Plopper 90, essentially brand new, couldn't have been down there for more than a day or two. By the look of the knots tied to it, unfortunately it was probably a kids lure, so as a former kid, I feel his pain.

.....still remember that $5 spinner bait that I got hung up when I was 12....man, that one stung.

Found a Megabass Vision 110+2, Shadtron, Major Craft Zoner, Azuma crankbait (now a BassMooch Claud Hopper), a wounded Spook, and a Berkley 6" Cullshad. I also pulled up a Magdraft Freestyle when I snagged the line it was tied to and it appears to still be in good enough shape to fish.

It's a Baker Lures Wobbler Jerkbait.

@glenn, thank you very much!

My 6 year old identified the small crankbait I mentioned on the previous page, and that @Bluebasser86 quoted me with.

It's an Arkie Crappie Crank

I was in Walmart, and my son comes up and hands me a package and says, "Here's that crankbait." The boy has a eye.

I haven't caught anything on that little crank, but it runs good and looks good in the water. Just wasn't the day for it the couple times I tried it.

Believe it to be a 220 in blue shad color.

Why yes, as a matter of fact it does. Good job.

Found in the rocks today, unfortunately I don't think a new set of hooks is bringing this one back from the dead. Looks like it baked in the sun for a while.

This year's round up.  Some are beyond saving, but a few look like they are brand new.  The topwater that looks like a spook threw me for a while.  I finally discovered it is part of a catfishing rig.

Found a bladed jig tree in full bloom today.

IMG_7575.jpg

I recognized the EVO because I buy them by the dozen but I legit thought the black and blue was some Temu nonsense. It is not.

IMG_7580.jpg

Nothing like borrowing dad’s $20 JDM bladed jig from his tackle box and whipping it into a tree.

Cool thread! Two years ago in fall I was shore fishing and made a cast across a stream channel a little too far and hung my bullshad wake in some brush. Had to break it off which sucked cuz that was the first one I ever bought about 8 years ago. Caught many 5 and 6s on it. Took the boat back that weekend and got it back. Also found a googan squad bladed jig. Proceeded to slay on it the rest of the season including this 5-2 on my birthday in November

Found a Musky lure yesterday . Double Showgirl , recently lost. Looks brand new . i probably will never throw this montrosity. Next to a 1/2 oz spinnerbait.

IMG_9550cf.JPG

I would throw it scaleface. On those occasional days when i can't get bit on my normal stuff, i break out the pike baits. It will keep me on the water for an extra hour or two, with new enthusiasm. I also caught my pb largemouth on a rapala super shad. Dang, that was almost 30 years ago...

That's a heck of a find. I tried to get a big bucktail out of a tree last time I was at Hazel Creek but I knocked it off the tree and missed it on the way by into the water.

plop.jpg

My first whopper plopper bank find, ripped out of some tules along with a ton of old line that initially snagged my bait.

ploprig.jpg

The rigs people tie are just baffling some times. this was loop knot through swivel to snap to a second swivel to split ring.

plopline.jpg

All the trash line they left in the water.
