Alright, who here goes through the process of buying a real pine tree, hauling it home, setting it up, removing it, and disposing of it every holiday season?  I used to get one for a couple years but the hassle of all that, plus the cost every season, plus pine needles in my house drove me to buy a fake one that is a one time investment.

No joke,  I was reading this, and as a bachelor I thought to myself “well neither”. Right then someone sent me a text with a picture asking if my tree will look like this;

to answer the question,  I think I might go with fake this year ?

The ladies in my house have a silver tree, a white tree, and a rose gold colored tree. I almost forgot, our “primary” tree is one of those fake spruce trees with the even more fake snow on the branches. I don’t even want to think about all the stuff they have set out to decorate with. Oh well, keeps em’ happy.

Real only ?

Fake. Had real trees my entire life until I moved in with my wife when we were dating. I'm not sure one is any less hassle than the other. We always went and cut our own cedar tree, it was pretty enjoyable as a kid.

Fake.  It's hard to tell the difference, unless you are close to it, or have eagle eyes.

Fake.  We've had the same tree for 25 years.

Growing up my parents had one of those silver metal trees. 

For lights they had a rotating colored wheel with a 100watt bulb behind it.!!

 

The first Christmas after my wife and I got married she asked what kind of tree 

should we get, needless to say I ran out and got a real one. 

That was 48 yrs ago and wouldn't even think about getting a fake one. 

 

Its only once a year.

Ya ain't lived until you've brought a real tree in the house and it's got a bunch of bee's in it that thaw out after a couple hours.....OMG.  We do both but mostly artificial now....and yes....I spray all real tree's too now!

I used to do real trees, but we have a pre-lit artificial now.  Funny thing, it's dropping needles.  Might be time for a new one.

Festivus for the rest of us! No needles and no hassles.

But first, we need to air our grievances and commit feats of strength.

We have a fake tree in the house but I dispose of a lot real trees every year for our lakes habitat program.

My artificial tree is so realistic, it loses its needles.  Seriously.  I have to vacuum after putting it up and after I put it away.  And last week I had to use some wire cutters to snip off some of the branches that were getting bare.  Me thinks it might be time for me to think about getting a new one.

Fake trees are a sin! ?

We finally got tired putting up the bigger artificial tree. Last year we bought a little 4' tree that sits on table. Already pre lit. Just add a few little decorations.

always go real to me the fresh smell always, always wins over the work involved

Ive never seen a cedar Christmas tree, that sounds very neat. Is that common down your way? I’ll bet the house had a nice aroma.

Not sure if it's common but there's lots of cedars here and we didn't have extra money for a tree growing up so cutting a free tree just made sense. They always did smell really nice.
