Any hidden online gems can you recommend?

Featured Replies

Where do you shop for tackle online? We all know about TW but is there another site that may not be as popular that you use or recommend?

FishUSA - they have a bigger selection of Rapalas than TW, the prices are good, and the shipping is fast. I've gotten about 3/4 of my crank and jerkbaits from them as well as other items.

Whatever I can't find on TW, I can usually find on Fish USA.

For enthusiast offerings stateside, The Tackle Trap cant be beat. I've picked up a few things from Carolina Fishing Tackle recently as well. Overseas, there are dozens of great retailers. For strictly lures, I'd just check a bunch of other sites classified forums for great deals.

Simmons Sporting Goods on Ebay as well as American Legacy.  Some others....  Asian Portal Fishing and Samurai Tackle both out of Japan but shipping can be hard to deal with since Covid 19.

I'm wearing a fishusa  shirt as we speak

Amazon. I add stuff to my cart, save for later and periodically check prices.

What I'm looking for is anything "Used, Like-New" sold by Amazon. These are new items with damaged packaging. You can get huge discounts on these.

I don't understand the fishusa love. I see their prices as a bit high? Got the new rapala v blade from bass pro a buck cheaper a bait. Am I missing something?

I've found good deals on there over the years and I guess that's why I like them. They also offer some things you don't see everywhere. For the majority of my bass stuff I use Tackle Warehouse, siebert outdoors and skirts unlimited. But I do shop fishusa for ice fishing and panfishing gear.

They do have some walleye stuff that I find interesting. I will have to dig into that side of the site more to see what they have. Maybe enough to justify an order some day;)

I have been to Thorne bros out of MN a few years back and thought they had a nice store, mainly musky though. Have never ordered from them though.

FYI their selection of plastics are cheap because they are factory blems, I ordered a huge lot of zoom, zman and misssile baits plastics, and to my chagrin all of them were deformed to an extent, some had dimples (some rather large), others were twisted, etc. That being said the vast majority of them will be mostly unaffected as far as how they fish, just a warning...

Doesn't bother me as long as they catch fish.  The reels and rods aren't blems from what I've seen.

I got skunked on a Fuego CT I bought like that.  Thumb bar was stuck in the down position and wouldn't return when the crank was turned.  Sent it right back.

Ya - I won't buy anything 'used' from Amazon. I have gotten all five of my BCs, three of my five Spinning Reels and six of my ten rods through Amazon - the rods were drop-shipped from others. Everything has arrived in perfect condition.

After TW & BPS, I'll poke into 'Sportsman's Outfitters'

I've gotten good deals from TackleSupplyDepot, Scheels, fishingonline, and tackledirect.

I've never had an issue buying anything new, just that one and only time I bought the Fuego as a return in new condition.
