I finally had some overseas. It’s okay. Nothing wrong with it at all. I prefer Guinness Extra Stout, though.

We stopped at a grocery store (on a college campus no less) JUST for a loaf of bread and found this in the glass case.  It was priced right at MSRP.  We are fans of everything Heaven Hill so it was a no-brainer.  Turned out to be a great buy.  Caramel, dried fruit, marshmallow creme with just the right amount of peppery spice.  

 

Ok so I know this is far from sexy let alone high class but dang it after an almost 9 hour drive taking my son back to college in on and off snow/ice I needed something 😜

Tried Angels Envy cask strength over Thanksgiving....not a fan. Reminded me a lot of Belvenie Doublewood. I'd love to give some review for anything about it but I'd probably enjoy drinking rubbing alcohol more. Tried letting it breath, tried it with an ice cube, tried it cut with water and it was always the same. 

Getting together with a couple buddies to have a boys night shortly ....bringing a Michters single barrel rye and a lagavulin 8 because my buddy Matt has never had peated scotch. Got one buddy a knob creek 9 and the other one a knob creek 7 rye....early Christmas presents. 

Recently I purchased a Bush mills Black Bush and a Bunnahabhain 12...like them both alot. Also picked up a Lagavulin 16 Wednesday night, haven't opened it yet but I've had it before and its fantastic in my opinion.

I am officially off for 2 weeks. I'm feeling a nice British Ale tonight...any suggestions?

I can only think of 2 English Ales and those are Bass Ale and Newcastle Brown Ale🤔 I personally would grab the Bass Ale but hey that’s just me.

Having a JTS Brown BIB old fashioned and watching Mad Men. Its decent for $18 but I prefer Evan Williams BIB for the price.

Although I really like all of your posts I think I have to throw my red challenge flag here🤔 After doing a little research as I’m always interested in looking into all things beer, after a “wee” bit of research it appears the beer you’re referencing is a “Scottish Ale” and not a “British Ale” 😬 

Alright, I feel lil fraudulent bc I may have led you astray. Truth be told their selection wasn’t great due to the holidays so I was handcuffed a bit here … haha

 

But to be fair. I did say a British ale. Please do a search on Great Britain you will find that there are 3 countries that make up Great Britain.

Well @Jigfishn10, I tried taking a page out of your book. Miller Lite was created by Joseph Owades who turns out is an Eastern European name which is nowhere close to England. A big swing and a miss for me. 😎

I went for something a bit closer to home last night and enjoyed some Corona’s which paired well with the tacos the wife and I made😉

Good call👍🏻 Although I’m sure I can find it somewhere it’s not a readily available beer by me although neither are the 2 I originally referenced anymore.

My plant manager picked me up a bottle of the Jack Daniels heritage toasted single barrel so I popped it tonight...its very good. Dessert forward pour...perfect after a big ribeye!
