What is that?

It is a farm that city dwellers visit to feel like they've been to a farm, kind of like a dude ranch.

"City Slicker" ever watch it?

Picked up a Woodford Reserve double oaked store pick yesterday that's fantastic...also snagged a backup bottle of knob creek 12 for a good price because I rarely see them and when I do they are often times $85+.

👍 the Mrs has good taste in beer. The brewery is a couple of hours drive from me in an area mostly known for the original Tackle Warehouse.

Yeah the knob creek 12 is a favorite of mine and for $70 I couldn't pass it up. I've never been a big Woodford fan but I've heard the store pick double oaks can be fantastic and it definitely delivers- its very desserty, total burnt marshmallow and butterscotch bomb.

The shelfie WFDO can be too tannic and light, but seems like you found a winner SiB. I've had a WFDO pick similar to yours, and combo profile is just amazing.

Decided to go off the beaten path with some of the green fairy.  Absinthe.

It reminds me of Vodka and Red Bull, a depressant mixed with a stimulant 🤔 I don’t drink them and I won’t drink this either.

Indeed....I've had a couple shelfers over the years and they were decent at best this is like 5 steps above for basically the same price.

My sister in law is here bearing gifts. I already killed one in like 5 minutes.

New Glarus is only sold in Wisconsin;  I have relatives there who bring that gift when they visit.  Good stuff!

Sitting in Wisconsin at the lake now. Storm rolled through, no power, tree down across only way in and out of the lake.  Gotta drink the beer before it gets warm. 😂

The bourbon buying continues, today I picked up an Elijah Craig barrel proof from last year...to be specific C924. Also bought my buddy a bottle of knob Creek 12 for a house warming gift.

The Wisconsin beer express is leaving the station Saturday.  Hey, it’s gotta last me a year!  😆

Believe it or not, I haven’t dipped a toe in the water.  😂 Lot of cruising on the pontoon boat and both of my adult nephews trying their hardest into goading me to fish but nope.  I don’t want to flip into fishing mode even though I brought them all the gear and baits.  😉

And the bourbon hunt is still going strong: last night I picked up a 1792 BIB and an old forester 1920. Need to lay off buying for a bit or my woman's gonna kick me to the couch!

I was never much of a drinker, but in the last year I’ve enjoyed sampling different whiskies. I enjoyed Uncle Nearest 1856, but lately I’ve enjoyed Knobel.

I couldn’t find it where I used to live, but I found it in my new location. For those that don’t know, Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs founded Knobel. It’s named after his grandfather.

I was enjoying the Rickhouse and Just the Juice varieties, but the other day I found the Barrel Strength variety. This batch came in at 120.8 proof. It’s got some kick.

But as an added bonus, this bottle happens to be autographed by Mike Rowe himself. It’s probably worth more unopened, but what good is that?IMG_4056.jpeg.f2ac4986492cfec9920216bb2b7e629a.jpeg

My co-worker/friend brought me in a 4 pack to sample and I must admit that although I’m not a Rye fan in any form this being ice cold is quite tasty. Sorry about the cat butt in the photo 😬IMG_5224.jpeg.060abaa47dbed295fe38332c3dbfe97c.jpegIMG_5223.jpeg.1ab615fd5b20af548c7b1ce087eeaedc.jpegIMG_5222.jpeg.8996e296ac63618d4b5649370e3651e1.jpeg
