A few days ago I asked about blade baits from shore and received some good info. Now I'm wanting to pick some up for spring and I'm just wondering what colors to get? 

Silver for sunny days, gold for cloudy days.

 

I'm going with the KISS method for now until I get more confidence in them.

I like the Smokey Joe Cordell Gay Blades .

Mix your silver and gold blades. 

If you have any blue gill or perch in your waters try the blue gill color in the Megabass dyna blade bait, we have been crushing 4 to 1 compared to shad colors or plain silver and gold. That being said we have a good population of blue gill and tons of yellow perch.

Gold, silver, purple and white have worked best to my memory. I’ve heard John Deere green is good.......

How's your water clarity?  That determines color for me.  Most of the lakes I fish are stained to muddy, so my choice is either black or chartreuse, no matter what I'm throwing.  

 

If you water is clearer, I'd go with something that looks more like what the bass are feeding on. 

I keep it really simple. Silver in sunny conditions and/or clear water. Gold on cloudy days or stained water. Sometimes I’ll mix in chartreuse if the fish want to see something different.

As already mentioned, can’t go wrong with silver and gold. Those two colors cover about every situation, and were once about the only color options available in some lines many years ago. With popularity and technology, lots of other color options available. Whatever colors you like on a lipless vibrating bait (Rat-L-Trap, etc.), try on a blade bait. Shads and chartreuses always seem to produce.

Silver & Gold mostly for me too with a little splash of color when needed.

During the cooler water times when these baits shine, there seems to be 

two factors that can work in a bassheads favor when throwing blade baits.

One: there's often less forage around, which can make an 'easy meal' more attractive.

Two: Fish seem less inclined to chase a bait very far so it pays to hit them on the head if you can.

     But once you find them, it can get stupid, fast.

   I've used blade baits for years, and I'm still experimenting. My latest thinking is  white/redhead, lavender, light green, dark green and silver. I try to match the darker colors to the darker weather or sun angle. I find the different colors this site has to offer are an advantage:

   This is for the rivers. As a shorecaster, there's only one local lake where I can use blades lures and not hang up too often. Bummer.            jj

Here ya' go. No spybaits, because they have limited applicability here, but otherwise, Damiki's, Buddy's, Rapala's, jigging spoons, etc. Have a lot of backups for all these hanging on the garage wall

Silver in clear water and silver in dirty water.   Anything else unnecessarily complicates it.

here’s your answer lol 

I use the following Binsky colors and each works. Seems to depend on the day as to which gets more bites. I get the most bites on the red craw, chart, gold.
