Will the bass hold tight to those like they do with floating grass mats? ?

If you pour sweet tea over it, they swim up and start licking the cubes

No freeze in Florida. ? Lows in the 50s, highs in the 60s and 70s. They were saying we’d be pushing 80 later this week.

Well, the cold is known to shrink things.

We hit 3 degrees two nights in a row, a foot of snow, finally getting a thaw today, and also just got power back.  Even 1899 didn't get this cold in s. Texas - there's no record to compare it.

Still no water because of rural water company line breaks (probably saves busted pipes in my house) - but when I saw the water trickling, caught everything I could (still have water in my water heater if needed).

I survived on my ancient Coleman single burner, set up a makeshift kitchen in the garage with aquarium stand and spare floor tiles

I know of a time when it got colder but you’ll have to check the cave walls instead of pen/paper

glad you’re still eating!

Whatever you guys down there do, be careful with any heaters.  Been hearing about CO poisoning and fires from space heaters.  Stay warm, but be safe.

I feel you sir! I live right down the road from you and somehow haven't lost power like the rest of the people around here. Can't believe we are getting more snow today, may even be more than the first time.

We have power now, and I'm melting snow to fill toilet tanks.

Got the power company call that the state has suspended rolling outages for power conservation.

They predicted 1" of snow today, ending in the afternoon, but it's already over 4" and coming down harder.

Been getting in a lot of reading - just finished the 1919 Aransas Hurricane in Aransas - Life of a Texas Coastal County.

We got nothing compared to that.

Worse news: Massive shad kill puts a stop to fishing. We can't get a bite with all

the dead and dying shad. It will take a week or two for things to settle back down.

We get a big shad kill every year the ice melts in the back bays.  Smells bad, but it's kind of cool to see all the channel cats surface feeding on the carnage.  Some of those shad are over a foot long.

I’ve got some big smallmouth with dead shad I scooped off the surface. I’ve even been known to freeze a bag or two and use them when it warms up

My White River guide says the shad kill results in a feeding frenzy for big brown

trout.  They lose all inhibitions and actively feed during the day. Well, that is not

the case with bass on the Tennessee.  The sea gulls are the only thing we see

aggressively attacking the dead shad.

I initially started doing it for catfish. I figured they were below eating all the dead shad as they sink to bottom. Low and behold I started pulling up smallmouth with frozen dead shad 35’ down

Diamond vols started today @ Georgia southern

Yep.  SEC and ACC started on the 19th. AAC starts on the 26th. No idea when the other conferences begin.

Notre Dame canceled out going to LSU due to virus concerns.

Should be a fun SEC season with 5 of the top 10 schools from the SEC and LSU coming in 12th and the Vols are 19th.
