Zoom, done?

I hope it isn't true but there are rumblings that zoom has been sold and there is a possibility there will be no more Zoom baits. I can't see this as being true, but I know there have been a lot of Zoom baits that have been unavailable or on backorder for quite sometime. Any one have any information?

Let’s all start a panic run on Zoom products, just like toilet paper.

I hope not, BPS has proven they are second to none at destroying reputable brands/products.

Is that a joke, sir? If so, I'm offended! I have about $400 worth in my cart right now. :lol-045:

Sure hope that's not the case. They're the rare combination of a quality product at a low price point... be terrible to see them go.

Oh this would royally suck - I love my Zooms.

Agree with all the above. Love my zoom.

I stopped by our Academy store this afternoon and they've stocked back up on all the Zoom baits that they carry. They're also stocked up pretty good on lots of other stuff also. I hope they continue all this.

Elon Musk bought them and is only accepting Crypto Currency quoted at the time of purchase as payment...

I do not relish the thought of no Zoom Tricks!

It could be cause of the pandemic and all the stuff happening within the last year or so.  I know almost every company is behind and hard to get orders from almost anyone.

I just perused several business news sites - no one has anything on this at all. Right now it seems to be just rumor spreading across the 'Net.

Berkley probably bought them and will continue to make the baits we've all come to love. Except they'll add their Max Scent and charge $10/pack.

I don’t have any information but I have heard that they were bought also.  I can’t find any info on by whom or even on an actual sale though.

Hopefully nothing gets discontinued regardless. Not being able to get flukes or trick worms would suck.

Maybe JM buys them, and then discontinues the product line because xxx already has a product nearly exact to them.

It'd be just like Pure Fishing (who owns Berkley) to pick up Zoom - they just closed the deal on Plano last month...ya - Plano now sits with Abu, Berkley, Pflueger and others at the PF table

If I remember correctly the owner of Zoom passed away a year or two ago. Maybe there is some validity to the rumor? That being said I haven’t been able to find any information to that effect. Hopefully not true!

No worries - if true , Googan will have a version of every Zoom Soft Plastic with 50% less product in the bag charging 50% more .

I heard the video conferencing side of their business really took off during the pandemic. ?

Zoom makes by favorite soft plastics and accounts for the majority of the plastic I use.

The brand is too valuable to go away.  I could see someone buying them and messing it all up though.  Ed Chambers died in 2018 and it’s still a family owned business.  Makes sense that they might be interested in selling it.  Probably 40% of my fish are caught on Zoom products.   I have a bag in my boat just for Trickworms.  It weighs about 5 lbs.

I agree someone will pick it up. They are one of the most popular soft plastics company out there. Maybe Johny Morris will buy it. He seems to control a lot of the fishing market already.
