About that - I'm working like mad (and having to re-do things occasionally) to get it done before bass opener. Would like to have it on the water before that for final testing and tweaks if needed.

The battery platform is cut out, 2-coats of Spar Urethane on top-side, 2nd coat on underside is drying now.

 

I've been cutting out templates from cardboard, rear section is almost done.

 

Starting to work on the electrical system. Mounted the fuse-box to a sheet of 1/4" HDPE.

 

Main circuit breakers mounted to just inside where the hatch to the battery compartment will be.

Port side is the 50amp for the TM, starboard side is the 30amp for everything else.

Press the red 'test' button, a lever pops out to the right and the circuit is open, flip the lever back into it's slot and the circuit is closed. Used this way, it functions as a cut-off switch dispensing the need for a separate one.

Starting to cut the plywood. Battery platform is just sealed, no carpet on that. Above it is the TM platform - need to cut the hatch for access to the battery compartment then seal and carpet it.

I've also run the wire from the 30amp breaker to the fuse box, mounted the charger on another piece of 1/2" HDPE and run the charging connections.

 

I've also started 'boxing in' the cockpit. All the pieces that are vertical will just be painted, no carpet.

Good looking sheet ‘o wood! I love the smell of marine grade in the mornings…….

Except that's not Marine Grade, Russ - it's BCX

Aw heck, if you lived down the road I could have brought you lots of marine grade. Then again maybe BCX is better, I’ve never heard of it

Nope - Marine Grade is the highest level for this type of work. Next down is ACX which is both-sides sanded, then BCX which is one-side sanded.

 

While they all need to be sealed, Marine Grade is naturally more water resistant due to the different glue used.

 

Being on a tight budget - went with BCX and Spar Urethane

BCX - $50

 

Needing three sheets for this project - the 'savings' add up quick.

Heard that. I think I gave 80 for a sheet of marine but that was a year or two ago . If you need it to be tougher just slather some resin on there, it’ll last half a century anyhow haha

Yep, built my ramp from this.

Taking a short break - and decided to show where I am

 

TM Deck cut, sealed...just need carpet

Hatch lid for battery compartment is on it's second coat of Varathane and is drying in the shop area

Basic templates for the casting deck, over the livewell and over the gas-tank are cut...still need to cut hatch openings

Fuse box and charger are in...got the 35ah battery in it's tray, connected to the charger and tested - A-OK

FRP on starboard side is cut and locked down

 

Need to install the electrical before mounting the deck pieces - so on the 1/4" FRP blocking the electrical compartment from the general storage compartment, I made a panel from 1/16" FRP and glued it in place.

 

Backside - it's a short distance to the fuse box from here.

 

This part is the recirculating system. Switch connects/disconnects the pump from the programmable digital timer which controls the cycle. Timing has 5 modes and can be anything from 1sec to 999 hours. Selecting seconds for the timing type and Mode 5, the top window shows how long the circuit is active, the bottom shows how long the circuit is inactive before turning the circuit back on and repeating infinitely.

Setting 30 and 270 - it'll be 30 seconds of pump on, then 4:30 off...rinse and repeat.

Route cables and connect at load end to the following items - electrical compartment end is still 'loose'

 - Bilge pump - two cables...one supplies power for the float switch activation, the second allows me to engage the pump on manual

 - Livewell fill pump

 - Aft pole light

 - Aft USB ports...this plug in is for the aft camera and the tablet when I'm using it at the 'helm'

 

Cable for bow lights is run, but there's things I need to do like paint at least the first few feet of the outside hull at the bow before I can mount the lights and wire them in. It's a pair of short, strip lights that I'm mounting just under the rub-rail either side of the bow-cap...yes, they are USCG approved.

For that I'd need a jet-drive - I'm just looking at a 15hp-20hp 2-cycle.

Actually it will.... buddy of mine in the Air Force had one and one late night out west of Omaha, we hit 100 in that thing.
